By not investigating the motivations why the students are somking cannabis, they have omitted the far stronger correlation of social and personal stress factors in relation to success in exams, that is farm more impacting than the actual use of cannabis. Fail studies are fail.
You are so wrong it hurts. 1) interest rates are set by LIBOR and have already been proven to be chosen arbitrarily by bankers. 2) Banks are too big to fail, yes even in the UK, there is no chance of failure. 3) the country has access to fiat currency printing, meaning they will print as much as they need to cover any loss to insured deposits, also tieing into point number one, that interest rates are arbitrary in relation to actual banking.
By definition there is no humane way to take a human life. Stop trying to solve paradoxical word problems and actually deal with the issues that cause aberrant behavior.
Most "science" is geared towards profit making (creating new or novel commodities), not actual progression of knowledge. Just look at the figures for R&D investments vs marketing investments and you will understand the point.
That is pretty much the sentiment that I am holding. False flag atracks are not unheard of but actual terror attacks re not unheard of either, so in the end I hope that the liberties of the people survive this ordeal.
Yeah, key demographics in Miami are older Jewish couples and older Cuban refugees who all tend to be very conservative. If the younger demographics weren't so well entertained they might care to vote but until they do Miami will tend towards the conservative side i think.
I lived in the North Miami/South Broward area for 12 years before moving to the Bay Area and I can certainly say there will be substantial culture shock when immersing yourself into the South Florida social and professional environment. I would never live in the South Florida region after living in the Bay. The cost of living is substantially cheaper but the quality of living is exponentially worse. I wish them all the best of luck, maybe an influential group of active, tech savvy citizens can inject some liberal values into the otherwise uber conservative climate.
Well, your assumption that they would be grossly inflated is 100% incorrect, these are surplus goods that are sold at 15% of the price that they would go for in their domestic markets because for them to reach the foreign markets they are marked down as excess and further subsidized by the government through various import tax schemes.
That's almost exactly what I thought, Soviet era Russia, China's great leap forward, the Triangle Trade, I am pretty sure those all had longer lasting effects than this embargo.
While I totally agree that Romero was an abject failure, his point still rings true. The need to obtain venture capital to launch a decent game has created an atmosphere stagnation in the genre, and dare I say, the field of game development as a whole. The requirement to produce results has superseded the game designers ability to implement new and interesting game mechanics in my opinion. It would be awesome to see more games that take the genre to a new level, even if the main proponent is someone who has't innovated in years.
Sorry guys, but Russia hasn't invaded Ukraine. There are Russian nationals who are independently fighting in the Ukraine, and no doubt Russia has covert operatives in Ukraine, but there is no large scale ground invasion. There is no confirmation of Moscow supported troops, overt ones at least, when we can easily get satellite images or actual proof other than someone saying, Russia is invading. This is just more anti-Russian pretext. The closest place Russian troops are present in large numbers is Crimea, which sorry to say has seceded from Ukraine and was annexed by Russia, whether anyone else wants to acknowledge it or not. Hooray for unsubstantiated articles.
I have heard of a practice where companies produce items with virtually the same product number as a performance model with just a slight, misleading name modification, and then sell them on black friday at severely discounted rates to make people believe they are getting great deals, when in actuality they are getting a terrible product for the break neck prices. This would confirm your comment, that if they find Nvidia is the one behind this, it is just business as usual. They didn't sell out if their overstock so why not just ship it abroad to offload the dead merchandise.
I am happy that Tim Cook at least states that he sees an issue with the makeup of the workforce. I hope that he addresses the problem correctly though. The issue is not that Apple needs to hire more minorities and woman, as it has already been stated that the applicant pool is adequately reflected in the hiring numbers. What they should do to address this issue is help level the playing field of children learning computer science through primary education, starting from elementary school and carrying on through high school. There are a myriad of issues that are present in minority dominated schools that can be handled, though the effects of these measures would take years to see. There is the minor issue of public perception of the IT industry, but more over they can help tackle issues like communities who are underserved by ISP's, lack of access to free community available equipment, lack of course diversity in prominently minority schools, and scholarships to help promote young people to get into the industry. None of these require them to immediately hire unqualified applicants, so there won't be any negative ramifications on their products. They can use the same advertising/business model of the NFL who intimately insinuates themselves into the lives of young people to promote them into not only consuming their product (sports entertainment) but also spurs them on to participate in the industry directly. I know I am crazy.
The prize is the same for everyone here, get smart, work hard and you will do just fine, and if anything we as Americans bend over backwards to give it to "minorities" aka black people with numerous programs, if they take advantage of it great, if not tough IMO
Correction sir, what the hell are YOU talking about? Those programs are barely designed to level the playing field that is the byproduct of generations of gerrymandering and gentrification of black neighborhoods which disenfranchise them on the education level. Not even the internet has been able to level the education gap because service providers underserve minority neighborhoods.
Individual achievements have never been able to overshadow the need for civil rights. There were black slave owners, does that mean that racism was over in the 1800's? Barack Obama is president, does that stop the penal system from disproportionately targeting minorities? I applaud you on your success, As a West Indian (I am Caribbean which is a fancy way of saying black in America) in Silicone Valley I have fought uphill with success, but that does not remove the institutional racism present throughout the industry. Still I commend you on your achievements they are only bolstered by the fact you did so in this environment.
LOL the slashdot community are such trolls when they want to be. If there was no racism in the industry people wouldn't be so touchy about it. If I walked up to you and said "You are a frog, ribbit ribbit, pay me." you wouldn't get angry, you would probably question my mental health and walk away. So if there isn't a problem here then why not disclose the numbers and reveal Jesse Jackson as a fraud? Oh wait, the industry is perpetuated by racist institutions so that will be fought tooth and nail. And the communities most engrossed in the industry perpetuate this fallacy that they are superior in some way because they provide a vital service. Well, there were communities in the north during the early 1800's who never wanted to end slavery because that would mean competition for factory jobs from newly freed slaves. I have a suspicion that we are once again faced with racism driven by labor concerns.
The jobs lost to H-1B visa recipients are not the low paying menial work that the average migrant worker has no interest in,
I meant to say that the menial work is not the type of work that the average American is interested in, obviously the average migrant worker flocks to the type of low wage work that Americans despise.
This issue is conflated with the general issue of immigration, and they cite H-1B immigration reform with the issue of migrant agricultural workers to further confuse people about the state of American immigration. The jobs lost to H-1B visa recipients are not the low paying menial work that the average migrant worker has no interest in, they are taking skilled jobs that could serve to help assuage the issue of unemployment in America if we would just decide to "apprentice" our own neglected youth labor population. They don't need to be put through college, just a rigorous training regiment to give them the skills to be able to learn as they work, like a real apprenticeship, not this figurative wholesale of the American economy. I have the burning suspicion that they are using the immigrant work force in IT to prevent the burgeoning industry from ever becoming unionized or some other form of coherent worker self direction. I guess the model of debt incumbent home owners not going on strike has evolved into, debt incumbent immigrants don't have the rights to strike.

You are trying to prove me wrong with incorrect information. Well done troll.
In a fiat currency system no ones money is worth anything, there is nothing backing it.

What the hell is Trinidad and Tobago doing in those tiny islands that ranks them so high? Or is it indicative of some lifestyle issue there?
Yeah, key demographics in Miami are older Jewish couples and older Cuban refugees who all tend to be very conservative. If the younger demographics weren't so well entertained they might care to vote but until they do Miami will tend towards the conservative side i think.

So funny and so true. The economic flood would destroy their native markets, and garner quite a bit for US based companies.
Your comment is not only stupid, it is a non sequitur.

I agree with most of your comment, but I am not sure how this makes debugging impossible, please elaborate.
I guess my comment hit a nerve with the mods, how sad they reject logic as trolling, they must have really been butt hurt about being called frogs.
