It's easy to get your ISP to drop you. download a lot of non-copyrighted material (you don't want to get in trouble) off of a file-sharing network. they will get rid of you and you won't be responsible for the disconnect charge. easy.
My view on it... A database is a collection of information stored in a computer in a systematic way, such that a computer program can consult it to answer questions. Now wouldn't a CD Player fit this description. A CD holds the collection of information stored in a sytematic way. The CD Player would be the computer that does the questioning. The remote control for the CD player could also be considered the coupled controlling device of the patent. The CD Player could possibly be prior art as it precedes the patent by over a decade.
That would only be a good idea if Google wants to go bankrupt. GM is so heavily burdened with debt that they may have trouble surviving the next 5-10 years.
so if i were to post a link to the DeCSS code a couple years ago. i wouldn't get sued, because i have only posted a "road sign" to the code? i wish laws and our courts were more intelligent, but i don't think we can expect the correct judgement from our judiciary system.
I would be willing to bet that some code similarities will appear between MAME and this new services' client software. But I'm all for it. Now it will be much easier to find ROMs of my favorite games. Their encryption will be cracked sooner than Ted Turner can call Jane Fonda to whine about it.
buy $100 worth of krispy kreme donuts. the stock, not the food. then next year it will be worth at least as much as the donuts that you could have bought.
excellent idea. yes go get the magnets. then stick them to something metal over a walkway. one day they will lose their magnetism and fall on people. --sorry, that is my evil thought for the day.
Community Colleges are a great place to pick up your core curriculum that will cost 2 to 3 times as much to get at a University. You can generally get a couple semesters worth of English, Math, and other courses that will transfer to your University of choice. As always make sure that the courses you plan to take at your Community College will transfer to the University before you pay for them.
Slashdot used to have a technical slant. now it is becoming a political rant. I don't mind seeing stories about how the diebold voting machines are crap, as they are computers. But i don't care about how the Republicans or Democrats are going to cheat, because they are both doing the same thing so it should be a zero sum cancellation of votes. Aren't there any good new OSS or security holes that we can talk about?!
If we were to use the logic that the RIAA and MPAA use, then we should ban all Linux Distributions because they are used to pirate software. Then Microsoft will truly rule the world!
No one seems to be pointing out that the "brains" behind the company has a history of creating then bankrupting companies. I assume he is an excellent marketer, or knows a lot of rich morons, who are willing to fund his ideas. He probably knew that Infinium would go belly-up, but he gets a nice paycheck until it does.
I agree that the equations do not allow for mass to be accelerated to the speed of light, but i never said anything about acceleration, merely that there is nothing prohibiting FTL travel.
Einstein's postulates for special relativity avoided saying objects can not travel faster than the speed of light. His equations state that you can not accelerate an object to the speed of light, due to energy requirements.

Diamond Essence are Cubic Zirconia, not synthetic diamonds.

Damn! now where am i going to get my pirated software from.

I was unaware of this barrier.
do you have a prius or what?
my SUV can't make it to work 2 weeks for $100.

It looks like someone left a fingerprint on the lens of the camera to me.
Who would have thought that such a poor actor could help out the *nix community so well.
This guy needs to get with the guy who puts the fiber-optics in the concrete.
I already have a hard time finding frames that fit my pictures & posters well. Now i'm going to have to find curved frames to fit the walls?
they should be searching for tiny black holes in the space station that could be sucking out the air.
I agree that the equations do not allow for mass to be accelerated to the speed of light, but i never said anything about acceleration, merely that there is nothing prohibiting FTL travel.
actually protons don't travel at the speed of light.
and photons probably don't have mass, though that hypothesis is still being tested.
what science theory doesn't allow faster than light travel?
Einstein's postulates for special relativity avoided saying objects can not travel faster than the speed of light.

There is nothing saying that you can't go faster than the speed of light!
