This summer I bought my fiancé an iMac DV (400MHz G3). The computer came with the stock 10GB hard drive and only 64MB of RAM.A week after I purchased her machine, OSX was released. I went out and bought a nice 7200RPM 40GB hard drive (7200s are not always recommended because of the possible heat issue but I haven't had any problems) and 2 256MB sticks of Crucial RAM. I did a clean OS 9/X install and I was a little disappointed by the speed.
However, when 10.1 was released, I was amazed at the difference. I have a 1.4GHz Athlon, and the perceived speed difference between her machine is not that great. The only slow thing that I have noticed is when starting the Classic environment. However, because the iMac is quite and stable, I have only had to reboot when installing updates. Please, if you are going to make the hackneyed claim that's machine Y is too slow - think for a minute. I bet if you were to spend the $35 and get another 256MB of RAM, you would notice a big difference.

Why settle for a class, when you can walk around in their house? I saw this story on one of the home improvement shows that run over the weekend. Thanks to Google, here is an article about the people that have actually won the home:
EB does suck....About the bundles, I bought my XBox at Gamespot. They didn't require you to buy a bundle but the salesclerk said that the only make money off of the games and the hardware (cards, AV packs, controllers, etc...).
I thought XP allowed you to network computers together straight out of the box? This is the first operating system to support home networking, right? Road Runner shouldn't have to provide technical support because Microsoft makes the Internet so easy!
Yes ---- This is sarcasm for those who are "sense of humor" challenged.
If you look back to the early days of computer development (circa 1940s) to current technology and extrapolate the amount of computing cycles/$1000 ---- You will find that Moore's Law holds even before silicon. Therefore, it is reasonable to assume that Moore's Law will hold even after we have reached the limits of silicon technology (predicted within the next 15 years).
"I highly suggest taking a little break this evening and stepping outside. (I personally will be having an intermission in the Cowboy Bebop marathon I am having tonight for this)."
I agree completely --- We spend so much damn time in front of our computers, that we miss the world around us. Space is where our collective future lies. We should start paying attention.

Why should I bother to read if the editors don't?

Uhh...I think that the link is in the post. Check the third line....The one that begins with "Simpsons".

You do NOT need a memory card to save games. You only need a memory card if you want to transfer your saved games to another XBox.

Did anyone else notice that when you roll over the side menu - Clippy actually says "All you base are belong to us". I'm not joking.....
Didn't we see this in Pulp Fiction?
Man....I thought I could forget all about that after 5th grade art class. It was hard enough to memorize with only three colors.
