    This link to Unisys's ES7000 series http://www.unisys.com/hw/servers/es7000/default.as p (which is the series they're pushing in the campaign) has what on it? A Java applet! Didn't MS kill Java in XP? So someone using Microsoft's latest OS that is perusing the Unisys site will get a big empty grey block in their browser...

    not true... Very few cellphones and services allow you to use your cellphone around the world (though it is possible), Brits and Americans drive on different sides of the road, Europe and the US use different amperages (or something... i know next to nothing about practical electricity).

    why would you want to learn any languages with '#' in the name in it anyways?

    perl is being rewritten because the people that know it best think it's the best way to go. (try reading perl.com if you're actually interested, they tell you more than you want to know about the why's)

    I completely agree with your point of view, however -- if you want to blame someone for the shitty music that dominates the TV/airwaves: blame the listeners. If Britney Spears, N'SYNC & co. didn't pull in $100 million/year apiece the labels wouldn't sign them.

    I can see it now...the M$ Linux dist. M$ would make one that was incompatible with every other *nix dist... like they did with Java.

    "Still, people have no problem investing in [Phillip Morris]"... I had once thought the same, but my father, who is a stock broker, told me that many of his clients, even the heartless old rich ones, were adamant in not investing in tabacco companies -- as they called them "child killers."

    I agree with the ethical question... where does one stop -- but realistically, I have alot less of a problem with a child's parents blocking information than a gov't. At least it shows the arents are interested in what the kid is doing.

    True -- Apple and recently Linux have been popular with schools. Apple because of it's simplicity and Linux because of its cost. This is a great way for Microsoft to gain back market share in the education system. Who thought of this 'punishment'? M$'s lawyers?
