    I don't run M$ software and I haven't agreed to any of their EULAs.

    My Internet shop suffered from the general slowdown.

    Can i sue M$ for the inconvenience?

Now after I write my multi-million selling super blockbuster best-sellers, I can make sure that all my heirs and assigns (and maybe even my own personal immortal corporation) can keep profiting from my works forever...and ever...and ever... My Boswell will never have to work a day in his (or her) life! We're all set!


    So you relax, enjoy your money and stop creating. In that way, the copyright extension is stoping you from creating more works....

    And even with the code they can't be sure that it still isn't backdoored. It's the same as the login/compiler trojan that was in unix for years (somebody karma whore for a link, I can't be bothered).

    Worse. If you can't compile, how do you know that those binaries came from that Source Code? That's, How do you know that the Sources that they show you have not been striped out of the backdoors/trojans after being compiled....

    The router should keep statistics of how many pings per second it gets. If this number suddenly goes way up, start rejecting all pings. Sure some "legal" pings will get lost.

    With new drugs, there is an extended trial period with animals, before testing in humans. Maybe a good solution to the ethical problem would be to test first in animals, and only when the technology is ready, move on to humans.

    But I guess there is nothing to stop some mad scientist doing experiments with humans.

    a good documentation should be part of the product, and therefore covered by the GPL. If they want to charge for it, fine. But the docs should be GPLd too, and whoever buys it whould be allowed to redistribute it.

    It's exactly what she was writing about: the ethics of scientific work, the disasterous consequences from Man trying to be God.

    They Can remove all backdoors and trojans from the Source Code before releasing it, but who can guarantee me that the binaries don't have those backdoors and trojans.

    Among all the spam I get, I get some advertising anonymous mailers and huge mailing lists.

    Shouldn't that be ilegal? I mean, they have my email address and are selling it, making a profit.

    this whole story is crap.

    Not that Record Companies are not trying to copy-protect their media, but the answers that they supposedly gave to their customer's complaint, come on, this is faked.

    This is the worst example of FUD I know. (anti-copy protection FUD, anti-RIAA FUD, anti-DMCA FUD, anti-Palladium FUD, anti-Record Companies FUD, but FUD anyways).

    Please, be a little critical when reading an article, even if it's from a "trusted" source as the Register. Read between the lines and try to figure what's really going on.
