  2. Re:Which part of the Constiturion applies to child on Strip-Search Case Tests Limits of 4th Amendment · · Score: 1

What a dim-witted retard. Childhood is the stage humans go through before they become adults. While a person is a child, he is under the care and responsibility of his parents. His parents' job is to raise him to be responsible and mature. Most children need their asses beat every once in a while in order to learn that what they just did was wrong and never to do that again. Yes, corporal punishment works, and it works well. Jesus, nobody is advocating beating a child til his ass is black and blue, or anything close to that. The people that don't get their asses beat as kids generally turn out to be the kind of adults who get their faces smashed into the concrete for being a douchebag/smart ass to the wrong person. The difference is, kids are a lot more likely to learn from their ass whoopin, whereas the douchebag adult is old and set in his ways.

Your logic doesn't even make any sense, anyhow. So since you think children are the same as adults, and should have full adult rights, do you also agree that a 5 year old ought to have a right to leave his parents and live on his own? If you do, then you're stupid. If not, then where do you draw the line? You're just another granola-eating hippy who is scared by the idea of a kid being subjected to corporal punishment. Stop advocating shitty parenting, you fucking idiot. You are directly contributing to the destruction of all that's good and well in our society.

If you did, then I guess your imagination just sucks. Where the hell do you live? I live in Alabama, and for a long time I lived way out in the country. Not by choice, but because that's where I grew up and always stayed. When you live 20 miles off the beaten path, you CAN'T "ride a bike", "carpool", "bum a ride", or "cover gas for someone else to drive". And if you can't afford insurance, you damn sure can't afford to move. And why would you WANT to move just because you're experiencing some tough times?

So if you've lived your entire life in rural Alabama, then if you experience hard times then you should pack up and move to Texas, leaving everything you own and all your friends/family behind? Yeah, that's a real smart idea. I mean, seriously. It's a hell of a lot easier to just NOT have insurance--or other luxuries--for a while until you can afford to do so, instead of taking drastic measures like moving.

Actually, in fact, the odds are highly against that, especially if he is an especially safe driver--like any sane person would be who is driving around with no insurance. I drove for years with no insurance because I couldn't afford it. You know how many accidents I got in? Two, and neither one was my fault. The point still stands - if you can afford a car, you can afford to insure it - simple as that.

So if you can afford a $300 hoopty, then obviously you can afford $100+ a month to insure it. (Yes, that is how much it often costs for liability insurance for a typical teenager or young person.) Yeah, that follows.

What about a college student who barely gets paid enough to eat?

What about a small businessman who is barely scraping by?

What about the hundreds of other examples I can give you of situations where someone may have a car, and may be able to scrape up enough gas money to get back and forth to take care of business, but just can't afford insurance?

You say that "if a person can afford a car, they can afford insurance." Bullshit. You don't know what the fuck you're talking about. Sorry for being an ass, but this kind of talk pisses me off. I HAVE BEEN THERE, in that situation, where I simply could NOT afford insurance, or even food to eat. Just because you have never been in that situation doesn't mean it's not possible or even unlikely. I know plenty of other young guys that are just getting by, especially in this economy. I know guys that have been out of work for months. They still got to drive. They still got to take care of business. Taking the bus isn't an option, because there AREN'T buses.

If you "need the car for work" then you obviously have some source of income and that is part of your required bills.

Yeah, and when you're getting paid $5/hr to work at the local university, 20 miles away, and are limited to 20 hours a week, and that's the only job you can find, well you gotta do what you gotta do.

    Quit fucking judging people.

I do. I drove around with years with no insurance because I simply couldn't afford it. Insurance is a RACKET. Why am I required to have insurance? Because the system is broken, that's why.

In an ideal and fair system, a driver's insurance would cover only himself and his passengers. It would therefore become optional. Some people would be willing to take the risk of driving without insurance, since by doing so he is not screwing anyone but himself in the event of an accident. There could also be a bare minimum insurance policy for medical expenses only, for a lot less than the current "liability" coverage. And if a driver wants peace of mind he can full insurance coverage.
