Surely a better test would be to measure the user's ability to use tools (spam filters, RSS feed aggregators, tivo-style commercial skipping, popup blockers, slashdot dupe checkers etc) to efficiently cope with / filter the "multiple streams of information" we're all bombarded with?
In a rack of 1U units, does each 1U slab take 240volt (or 115 or whatever) each, and have its own PSU?
I've often though it might be nicer if there could be one power supply for a whole room of PCs for example. This could be placed somewhere outside of the room and cooled there, with appropriate UPS backup too.
12 and 5 volt lines then feed each PC - no noisy or hot PSU per machine... Peace and quiet, and a bit cooler too...
So, all I need is my HDTV and java-enabled set-top box and I've got access to all the applications I need. No cds, no virii (maybe), data backed up frequently, accessible in a cyber-caff in costa-del-wherever on my 2 week's holiday. Brilliant!
And when you get run over by a bus, who'll be able to maintain / update your site? Is there a large enough base of Rails users such that your client can find another developer?
Not trying to knock what you've done, but if I were your client, I might be happier knowing my site was written in a more common language...
If it's anything like the old redhat releases, it'd annoyingly only use the third CD if you're not using a US keyboard or region. Pain in the arse to download the whole third CD just because one single region-specific package is on it... Can't remember which.RPM it was though, sorry...
Does webcam video blogging work if the server the cam's plugged into is on fire? Or do you just capture the first frame showing a small wisp of smoke escaping from the case?
According to New Scientist 28/08/2004, it's a little more to do with long-term climate change, rather than predicting if you need your umbrella tomorrow in Bristol... Earthquakes and the Earth's magnetic field are also modelled too apparently...
According to some .cx websites, the current ipod already *is* enema sized...

Acorn did this too... a 486 on a board to go in the RiscPC's 2nd processor slot.

...or buy one of those Fujitsu or deathstar hard drives from a while back... that should easily define your data retention policy.
Click-of-death zip disks work well too.
The man himself pronounces it "moague" - we interviewed him at NAMM a while ago:
Dr. Bob chats to our Nick

Since Prince Ombutu lives in Nigeria, wouldn't you have to extradite him to the US to nail him with this law?

Might this mean their database will have time-series functionality, a la FAME?... or was McNealy just blathering to anyone who'd listen...

You mean Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V ?
I'm a small OEM and have shipped a few intel processor based machines... Am I liable to pay a fine too?
Not had the bill yet, if so....
I'll just loose my elitism ...embarassed by this too?

No gigabit ethernet, so according to this, the mini won't be able to function as a Logic processing node.
Why would your car radar be useful if the signal it emits is attenuated by water vapour? Drive through some fog & you're in trouble.. ?
Push 'em in at the deep end. They'll either sink or swim.
