There was an article recently that said most twits quit a month after joining. How popular is it relative to facebook? myspace? friendster? My own impression is that it isn't very popular, it just has some very vocal users.
Can't find the story when it made slashdot, but this.
You ask the user a question, transposing letters in the words, and the user must give the answer. Seems hard for a computer to figure out, easier for an actual person than captcha.
# His wife claims he's harassing her and files complaints against him, with the police department. # He responds by not following the proper course of action and filing a police report, he instead, in his words:
I have an older computer that can't run most new games, but on games it can run I wait until Best Buy is selling the game new for $20. For console games my sweet spot is also $20, but rarely do any of the new console games reach $20 new, so I just buy them used at Gamespot.
I travel in Republican/conservative circles and would be shocked to see a poll that corroborates what you said. The death penalty is generally supported as is IVF. The only people that are against IVF, abortion, and the death penalty are "seamless garment of life" Catholics who are small in number but very vocal.
"Freddie Mac recently began 25 initiatives around the country to dismantle barriers and create greater opportunities for homeownership. One of the programs is designed to help deserving families who have bad credit histories to qualify for homeownership loans."
I run the right wing political blog in Massachusetts and did not get credentials from the RNC. It is a community blog and so perhaps the RNC didn't like that a portion of the community doesn't like John McCain. But I filled out the form to be credentialed. All the RNC did was put me on their crummy email list so I get convention related spam.
Just because something makes sense doesn't make it constitutional. Congress can't make an end run around the Constitution. Don't like the way the Constitution prevents such and such? Amend the Constitution.
The quote wasn't pulled out of thin air. It came straight from McCain's lips.
You are confused if you want to translate what McCain said into "We will leave Iraq when it makes sense to leave Iraq." McCain has made it clear that we will not leave so long as we are taking casualties on the ground. And he has also made it clear that we will not leave after we have stopped taking casualties on the ground. So, we will not leave ever. Not in a hundred years, not in a thousand years, not in a million years. That is what McCain said in all honesty.
The first library shown in the Salon piece should be torn down. No question about it. There are a lot of architectural disasters from the 60s that deserve the same fate. A library should be aesthetically pleasing, and functional. (Why is the functionalist design so dysfunctional?)
Public libraries should start to go under. Why does every single city or town need it's own public library? Here in the metro Boston area there is a library or branch library for every mile (at least). It simply isn't necessary to have that many libraries. The times that I'm generally free, the library is generally closed. Libraries around here closed at 8 or 9 on the weekdays, and if they are open on the weekend it is 9 to 5 on Saturday and not at all on Sunday. The collection at the BPL in my opinion is lacking. Too many books are marked as missing in the catalog and those that are in the catalog aren't on the shelves, probably missing. But at least they have a full collection of Xena: Warrior Princess and other high art on DVD.
I've become very interested in private libraries. Here in Boston there is the Boston Athenaeum. While the price at first seems high, $250 a year, it doesn't seem outrageous to me. $21 a month for a library whose catalog contains good books, books that are actually on the shelves, and they are able to enforce rules and exclude unruly people. The hours are actually a bit worse than the BPL which is unfortunate.

Oh please for the love of all things holy, let it die!
What about reporting on it. That's quite different than watching the thing in its entirety or getting the transcript.
Everyone covers the big stuff. How many people cover the last town council meeting?

What would he be filing a police report about?
Charges dropped would indicate to me that the accusations against him were bogus.

What if our sub slammed into an Iranian vessel?
Come again.

Would love to see Rain beat out Colbert.
What the fuck does that mean?
Pats.

Bringing down a whole star destroyer?
John McCain did. You can blame us for nominating John McCain though.

Most bloggers on the right do it for free.
McCain is saying he would withdraw from Iraq when, and only when, withdrawal will make America better off than staying.
You are projecting on McCain something he has never said.

Mine still works. Whereas my E2 essentially crapped out after a year.
I was scanning the comments hoping someone mentioned this.
