    That was with beta software. The whole point of having people try your software early is to gather data on how it performs. Are you trying to spread FUD that they will insert code into projects or something?

    He started working with computers in 1965. Still doing OS development with the XBOX team. I'll hopefully have his longevity but I know I won't have the impact his career has had.

    I didn't buy *anything* for any of my deadbeat relatives. I just bought a bunch of stuff that will keep me amused for a few weeks. Money well spent imo.

    Even as the trend to reduce key travel has continued the Thinkpad keyboards still feel great.

  9. I get your point but I stand by mine as well. The Surface is a successful niche that has spawned competitors in the market. It competes more with other laptops more so than iPads but it's still a tablet so it makes sense that it would have a full OS. They hopefully learned from WinRT that people don't want a stripped down windows.

  10. Microsoft's success with Surface comes from there being room for both. Personally I fine a lot of value in being able to switch fluidly between tablet and laptop functionality which I can't do with an iPad.

  11. Yep. People act like desktops / laptops are going away. MountainLogic also doesn't seem to understand that Office has made the transition to online. Office 365 makes a lot more money now than the stand alone version.

    Obviously Nazi sympathizers didn't make up the term. They simply used it as propaganda so they don't get to own it. People who are really working to bring social equality to all can't really be painted with Godwin's brush.

    Legal grey area. Not an ethical grey area. Any software engineer that cares about their career should not want Uber in their history. So Uber is killing itself by limiting itself to only the pool of unethical engineers.

    You touch on an important point with the lack of Mac OS X developers. I work at a hardware company that supports Windows, Mac, and Linux. It is getting *very* hard to find and keep people to work on the Mac version of our driver and it's starting to show in the quality imo.
