According to the VW web site the turbo diesel isn't available in California. I assume this is because even though they get good gas mileage diesels are heavy on the air pollution.
I'm reminded of Fred Brooks' description of human interaction and how the larger a group gets the less efficient it gets. The same holds true with a family I guess. My wife and I had been going back and forth about having another. Now I think we'll stick with just the one. Thanks!
Funny you should say that. I heard this morning on the news that there are over 30 suits against them from all over the contry for just that. Unpaid over time.
Ah. Now I understand. What you are talking about are the Smart Displays that were code named 'Mira'. These are not Tablet PCs though it is easy to see the confusion. They are a step between a Pocket PC and a Tablet PC. They run a Pocket type OS but have larger screens. The other main difference is they have resistive (palm style) digitizers rather than inductive (Wacom style) digitizers.
The one thing most people don't get is how great the pen is for navigation. I've used both the Toshiba and HP units quite a bit. The Toshiba has a finger pad and the HP has a nub. I almost never use either because the pen is so much faster and more natural. I use the keyboard for most text input but most of my time is spent navigating and for this the pen is best, even better than a mouse.
This is so true and sometime it is taken for granted. I am able to plug my web cam into my PC and it just works. I was surprised when I plugged it into my iMac (yes I own both PCs and Macs) and it didn't just work, and in fact I have not yet been able to find a OSX driver for it.

Mike Hawash and others are being held without access to a lawyer and without being charged. And they are not being told how long they will be held or when they will be charged.

"The Pyramids are one hell of an engineering feat!"
I had an engineering instructor that claimed the Pyramids are an example of bad engineering. He said good engineering always takes the cost of the project into consideration and the pharos didn't do this. They ordered them built at any cost. I'm sure if I saw them in person I'd have to disagree.
On an XP system programs run with the same security rights as the user who launched them. It is almost never necessary to run an app from an admin account.

FYI Wacom has posted a new driver (4.75-9) that fixes his offset problem.
Ok. So enlighten me then. I do own a mac BTW. Its an older iMac with the round mouse. This mouse looks spiffy but it drives me bonkers when I place my hand on it without looking and can't tell that it has rotated until I go to move. I know there is a silly adapter but the adapter should come standard IMO.
I wish this were true because I was recently assigned the task of writing a driver for Win95. Some sectors of the market don't plan to move off of Win98 for at least 5 years. So we have to keep supporting them.
So you've really just been sitting there clicking refresh to watch your rank chage?!?
That just cracks me up!

No idea. I was too busy supporting the local comic shops to take notice.

Um. Tablet PCs (at least the one's we are talking about here) don't come with Win2K. They come with XP Tablet Edition.
I have no idea what you are talking about and I suspect neither do you.

Henry David Thoreau called. He mumbled something about the railroads being built on the backs of the working man and hung up.

"Internet is just too tempting to have around."
Just because you have access at home doesn't mean you have to browse for porn.

That most of the TabletPCs (all but HP/Compaq) use Wacom digitizers?
The technology is already fairly mature. The price just needs to come down IMO. (I'm rarely humble)

Religions can be flexible too. I think it was 1998 that the Catholic church pardoned Galileo and officially acknowledged that the earth was round.
"The problem is that, when we get to the tough moral decisions, non-theists are left without a guiding principle by which to make decisions."
I am an atheist. My guiding principle is simple. I treat others how I would like to be treated. There is still room for compassion and politeness.
That's fine for a desktop system.
It sux to have to hook up an external device to your laptop to get two buttons though.
I don't understand why the blazes the OS would be made to support the extra buttons but the hardware folks would refuse to integrate it natively.
can't that be run as a cron task?
