I bought a gigabeat off ebay. I really like it. But I had a problem, no sync software for linux.:-/
So I searched and found rockbox.org, a completely opensource OS replacement. BTW, it adds movies to an otherwise ordinary player and it is easy to revert back to an ordinary player (on the gigabeat at least).
So now I can INSTALL and also play my mp3's. But now how can I purchase new songs? AFAIK I can no longer play m$ DRM and gigabeat never played Apple DRM. I can get new songs by:
1: buying the whole CD, sometimes not worth it to get a few songs.
2: buy via iTunes, walmart, etc... to be "legal" and then download a version I can ACTUALLY use.
3: just download the music and dont give a rip about piracy and such.
The RIAA has me btwn a rock and a hard place. Either I shell out too much $$ for a whole CD. Or download from the internet. In option #2, I am sure they wouldn't care that I'd purchased a legal copy...
The world would be a much nice place if we could all just get along.
I saw a Nova (IIRC) where Germany is subsidising individuals to put up solar cells. Farmers are covering entire fields with them. They have a contract so that they are garunteed to recoup expenses and make a profit.
Germany lines all of its freeways w/ solar cells. That is making good use of otherwise wasted space.
I hope other countries (the US included) take some lessons from the Germans.
Bayesian analysis (you could call it AI, so much as anything is AI)
Bayesian filtering "learns" from past events, so yea it is an AI of sorts. I *love* popfile for classifing my emails. Haven't read spam in a long time, but that is on ONE of the classes that it correctly infers.

Ever hear of "09 F9 11 02 9D 74 E3 5B D8 41 56 C5 63 56 88 C0" on/.? Might never had, or not quite so loud, if it weren't for the "surpression" attempt in the first place.
The best way to clean up your image is to not sully it in the first place.
States compete for tourism, for companies, for federal grants and resources, etc... Boeing recently moved to Chicago (well, not QUITE so recently) and cities and states were actively competing by giving tax breaks promising land, etc... Its been played out over and over with more than just Boeing.
States are like siblings, they have a rivalry. Sure, somebody might not pack it in and head to SC over this, but it does matter in the long run. Right NOW, the impact is intangible.

I humbly disagree. I convert as many fellow employees as I can. Most probably couldn't configure the proxy to get the the net much less address "advanced" issues.

Like the OP abandoned Novell, I won't use Redhat. Not cuz it "sells" Linux, but b/c they said F/U, we will only sell sever editions.
I've never tried Fedora Core. It maybe the bestest distro ever.... I won't install it period. Just my way of saying F/U RedHat.
When I was a child I thought as a child, I reasoned as a child, I used SuSE as a child. When I became a man, I put childish things behind me, I installed Gentoo.
(Note: that was SuSE pre Novell, just so you know)
I live in the middle of a major metroplex and when I carry our oncall phone, I can't get crap for bars at my house (WTF?). So *how* am I supposed to get excited about spending hundreds of $$$ on a phone that sounds like crap that I can't use from home?
Not to mention the unknown effects of placing such high radiation right next to my ear. Studys DON'T know the long term effects, but scans DO show that the brain is "hot" on the side where the phone is. And no, not "hot" temperatures, hot as in active somehow.

Somebody mod him up! ... I would but sadly no points to give.

Here's my stats: Classification Accuracy
Not too shabby.
I say Brandywine ... a tomato from middle earth!

Not cryogenics, a cartouche! Forget Mars, I'm going to Abydos!
Sir, your gargantuan cone is making a mockery of our self-serve policy!
LOL.

Let's see:
religious freedom? Check.
social and political freedom? Check.
Pursuit of happiness? Check.
Wait, you said "fulfill"; you want socialism, that's the next door down.

Ah yes, decimal. 077 and 090 say to me "octal".
And yes, MZ was in my first (if errorenous) post.
begin w/ "MZ", your Klingon must be rusty ad that would be an invalid EXEcutable.
Confucius also say, "Man with hand in pockets not only play with keys." :-))

Anyone find it ironic that the last two initials of his name is MS? And now MS wants to take over OSS?
....
I feel sick

I have had cancer once
popfile has been doing this for me for a while. It has infered email classes 95,640 times with a 99.71% accuracy.
I wonder if the robots are using Bayes algorithms too?
Nope, just stick your ear at the end of the tubes and listen.
darn! I knew that I should have patented that ugly lady mask from TR!
.... :((
Oh wait, patents are immoral
1..2..3..4..5
That;s amazing, I have the same combination on my luggage!
