Required to work Saturdays is the biggest slap in the face. Told my boss in January I'm committed to 9 hour days, not 11-12 which is what I worked last year.
In Comcast's case, they rolled out the PAY-to-use Wi-Fi hotspots using paying customer's routers.Performance is spotty, and sometimes their GD routers kick off my access point so my internet fails.
The benefit of freight is that there's far less danger and far lower insurance liability. Hyperloop could pull trucks off the roads, from Seattle to San Diego and from NYC to Boston. Think of the greenhouse gases we'll save.
If they were only planning to support legacy systems, of course that money is designated to support legacy systems. The only way to drop it from 95% is to increase the budget and add other line items, such as new systems.
Governor Mitch Daniels outsourced the unemployment database, and slashed the budget for job training for the unemployed in an attempt to keep Indiana "in the black". As a result, there are fewer IT jobs in Indiana, and those who are trying to jumpstart their career are generally-speaking, FUCKED. I wonder if any shortcuts were taken with their statewide medical patients database? It wouldn't surprise me.

My employer hates overtime because it screws up the books. But they also like to cut costs by cutting temp employee staffing, which leads to more overtime.
My employer makes all salaried employees work Saturdays. Thankfully it's only a half-day, but had they been up-front about this, I would not have agreed or would have asked for significantly more money. I'm appreciative that they only ask me to work every other Saturday but there's zero pay for it. I put in about 200 hours per month while salaried positions elsewhere only require 160 hours a month. And to top it off, I've only earned 3 paid time off days in over a year, because all the additional time I work isn't counted against time off for doctor's visits and the like. It's bullshit.
Apple isn't negotiating with artists, it's negotiating with labels who represent the artists. If you don't like what your label has done with your music, go indie.
