IMHO the problem is not with power required for sensor. The problem is (probably) conductive wire entering the tank. This wire can act like antenna or conduct static charge. And where you are trying to estimate static charge/EMI, you should have good crystal ball at hand. It's nearly impossible to be ABSOLUTELY safe.
(Once i tried to solve EMI problem with small CPU board ... So i put it in sturdy aluminum box .. Works great as long as no wires go out of the box, but MAY be much worse otherwise. And in my case the CPU got burned in first encased test)

The power needed for new sensors is probably in mW range. The sendor capacitance is bounded (so no unknown stored electrical energy), the thermal conductivity can be estimated (no thermal buildup). And no unexpected interference ...

On the idea of shining laser into fuel tank - do you thing you could ignite anything with 1mW laser pointer? it's hard to ignite match with 200mW one ...

    I can't see the point ..
What does we gain if we allow parallel universes?
If we only choose one of possible universes when we make observation, it's only other explanation of probabilistic nature of quantum mechanics. And probably quite useless ..

Or is there some interaction between between realities after split? Is there some physical phenomena that could be explained by existence of parallel universe but not by probability waves?

And ... single electron interference should signify that parallel universes interact with each other .. until observed. So when i observe something, i find out which universe I am in AND disconnect/destroy all other possible universes.

  9. Energy source? on British Scientists Reverse Casimir Effect · · Score: 1

    Just a wild idea ...
There was an article some time ago about device using very thin gap between conductors to generate electricity from temperature gradient (asymmetrical tunneling of electrons with different temperature). Main problem was to get conductors close enough and still keep place between them.
But with negative Casimir force it could be easier to manage this ... Casimir force is short reaching but quite strong in interesting distance, so it should oppose electrical and mechanical force in gap ...
So where is the catch ? ;-)

    - Floating code technology is well developed (Microchip KeyLock etc., most remote car openers use this for years).

    - Instalation is extremely simple - no antenas, no keyholes, no IR receivers, simply mount lock on door (from inside!)
