  1. Who remembers Stargate Atlantis Season Finale? on MPAA Targets TV Download Sites · · Score: 3, Insightful

And how many had to record it on a dvr only to find out that the movie went 5 minutes past what all schedules published for the movie. My tivo missed the end and I had to download it off the net and view the end on my PC.

Personally I consider it fair use if I already have a copy of the content I obtained legaly but I'm using the internet to get it in a different format instead of paying for utilities to do it I just basically leech off someone elses work.

Course back in the real napster days I had a lot of cd's of mine stolen so I used napster to restore my muisc collection. Subsequently the drive carrying all that music died a year later. Which lacking napster I just quit buying cd's.

And a warning to the MPAA and RIAA in the last few years I have severly cut back my cd/dvd purchases. You have put out nothing but crap lately. Hell last night I made the mistake of renting that damn steve zizou life aquatic movie. If there was any part of that that was interesting it must of been after the first 45 minutes I suffered and gave up on it being anything..

I guess if I want to be entertained I'll just pirate your movie trailers. All the good parts are usually in there anyways.

DND Online better be damn perfect or the players will go back to paper.

The expansion pack of AC2 has not sold any copies at best buy they've been sitting there doing nothing. And server pop's are still in the 200's and from a players perspective when I did play if you was not already level 55+ then you have nobody to play with. The game was stupid to make things where high level char's could not really help lower level characters so there's no incentive to help people.

Waste of money IMO. People that were burned by Turbine will not go back.

And my MythDVD box I'm building is far far more interesting I believe. With it I have all my videos up to view from any PC that can run the frontend.

Maybe when you search for DSL you'll see companies at the top that deserve that ranking and the companies that fall down who think they should be first would improve how they treat their customers.

Also this would be bad for software development as companies would be forced to submit thousands of patent ideas before actually building the product and if they decide against the product nobody else could do it because they'd have to pay the patent holder.

The patent office would be snowballed instantly.

Patents should stay as First to Invent.

Unbuntu cant suspend on some machines, Linspire can, Unbuntu cant see my broadcom wireless card and getting my prism54 card going was tricky but in both cases Linspire worked just fine with either card. Still I like to see where ubuntu goes in a few years. Debian definately needs a kick in the arse and looks like ubuntu will do it.

I'm sorry but why are people and business who have for the last 10 years been using Explorer to manage files on pc's and networks suddenly going to embrace a completely different method that is unfamiliar and will reduce productivity at all levels until the user becomes savvy enough to use it.

No screenshot of this "New OS" has yet to impress me. Maybe it gets it's hype because "New OS" = boost in hardware sales. But you know what. When the majority of your hardware sales are sub 500 pc's you're not going to make up any profits on the early adopters who buy the bigger and faster machines.

What have we gotten with every new version of Windows.

    Software quits working

Have to buy new versions of antivirus and other utilities in many cases to get full functionality and also see above.

Waiting on hardware to get "New Seals of MS Approval" which IMO is silly because that WHQL crap never stopped Nvidia drivers from causing the nv4_disp.dll BDS's.

Oh and this "New OS" that was supposed to run on pc's that were wildly faster (10Ghz) machines. Where are those new machines??

Longhorn is a shell of the promises that were made, it most likely incorporates code from XP/NT4 base so will incorporate security holes and bugs and probably new avenues of attack. It's just plain ugly, and probably will be slow at best on existing equipment.

If you're looking for a new OS you may be better off with OS X on a PPC, or Linux on x86.

Wireless power in many instances is easy but low powered. What the focus needs to be on is superconducting materials that enable us to make devices that require minimal power to function.

Imagine a watch that took your body heat and with the right chips in the watch would convert that heat and power/charge the watch.

The same could be said for any number of ways to get power somewhere. If things were ultra low powered then fiber optics could be used to power devices.

That is also a reason I think seti faces a problem. Modern civilizations may be using superconductor tech that gives them virtually no ELM footprint past their local region of space. If we do find something more likely that signal will fade and eventually dissapear over time.

To those that disagree many contract companies will pay you no benefits and they are not required to disclose any of the details of what they get for your work before you are paid. For all you know is that the company could be charging 45 a hour for your work but paying you 20 a hour claiming the extra 25 a hours is for health, vacation and all that but not providing it to you.

And where I have worked contractors are treated like second class employees, they're not invited to employee functions and other team building events which I disagree with as it hurts the group as a whole making your contractors feel like insiders. Companies that promote these actions should be compelled to invite their contractors to functions. You may end up with more satisfied workers as a whole.
