As mentioned by a friend when referrering to his video clip collection (but it doesn't help the videos/films he makes): "Oh, I have a few frigabytes of data." "Frigabyte? What's that?" "Oh, that's a friggin lot of data."
I sure hope he doesn't follow Newton's Laws of Physics, mainly the first. For if Bush keeps in this motion until met by another force, I don't want to see it.
Even if it ends up being used widely (besides the fact it'd probably be easy to misplace:P), will it still be costly to create anyway? If not, there probably will be some crazy people who'll make a cool storage medium out of it. (I guess then there'd be a problem reading/writing to such a thing)
"My factories may make an end of war sooner than your congresses. The day when two army corps can annihilate each other in one second, all civilized nations, it is to be hoped, will recoil from war and discharge their troops." -Alfred Nobel
Now how come we haven't looked at what happened when this guy invented dynamite and think for a second?
I wonder how airport security will like these batteries? If these become used enough will airlines have an option to give electrical outlets for computers/other gadgets?
Although there are quite a few comments about how poorly the terminoligy is used, they do have a page on "lingo" as the link says. To my (more than likely) limited knowledge, these definitions are correct, however poorly used in the bios' section. http://tlc.discovery.com/convergence/hackers/gloss ary/glossary.html A rather well done page, but a poorly designed website I think...
Excel Saga has that japanese humor, although most of the physical gags are universal enough, each culture has its own idea of what is funny - my japanese grandmother probably would not even break a smile if she watched all of monty python (with subtitles even)
i have enough mixups cracking my head on a really clean window becuase i didn't see it, hopefully this stuff is durable enough to hold up (against my head)
sure this may create super-whatever, but how much power is being taken up and is it worth it? If it could be possible to create a super computer, lets say i turn it on and all the lights in the state of california turn off. It might not be worth it.
if you think about it, it's almost like they ask us to burn copies. first they give us software that lets us rip data then they give us hardware and software to copy it. it's like video tapes, we can copy it if we have 2 vcrs, and the tape. anyone can do what they want, say what they want but there will always be a workaround.
Why yes, they are available for less than $300 (http://solarpc.com/tpanel.html)
Gah, sorry, I forgot to set my phone to check and proof my /. posts :P (now that could be useful...)
I can see it now: "I'm afraid I can't let you do that, Dave"
You wouldn't be able to patent it, though, since even the USPTO will throw that out without reading it.
You must be new to slashdot.

it's the goto function in 97 version, press f5 (goto) and type x97:l97, press tab, hold ctrl and shift and click the graph wizard. have fun
If that's a simple question (as said in subj line) I really don't know what I could ask
