my girlfriend just bought the Clie (16MB, High-res display, b&W, Memory Stick)

The Clie comes with so much useless software that my girlfriend had to delete a ton of stuff before she could install her medical reference software. She has 16 friggin MB, which should be about ten times as much needed for palm OS. She wants to get a Memory Stick, but a lot of Palm apps don't work running of the stick.

My Treo 90 is pretty neat...except that the backlight has blown out. Twice. And every time it happens, I have to wait on hold for 30 minutes. Hope it doesn't happen again!

So..I can't recommend either of these handhelds. Perhaps Dell's new offering might be a smarter choice!

Yet the American version of the same character (Lee Majors, also the Six Million Dollar Man and the Incredible Hulk) always strayed on the right side of the law. I guess we Americans always have to root for the good guy. Whereas in Japan, a well developed hero will often masturbate, cry, and proclaim him/herself the Messiah. I gues they just have different types over there.

linux will always be best on intel CPUs, because they are the most available. linux is taking over proprietary UNIX boxes by Sun, HP, and SGI.

guess what, all those UNIX boxes used to have high-performance CPUs attached to them (MIPS, PA-RISC, etc). Now they are all going the way of the dino...thanks to Linux.

the more popular Linux is in the server room, the more likely Intel will be riding its coattails. And yes I know that Linux exists for other archs, but Linux/SPARC, Linux/PPC etc are always a step behind the Intel version.

I hate to be pedantic, but "spacial" is not a word. You are looking for "spatial," but this isn't correct either, as the word actually is used to describe the distance between two objects.

And let's not kid ourselves; "the worst incident the history of space," is probably not true either. Think about it; the law of averages dictates that entire civilazations, planets, populations have undoubtedly been laid low by crashing comets, cosmic radiation, asteroids, etc.
    So that doesn't really work.

Maybe it would be more appropriate to say, "The worst incident in the history of the US Space Program," or the "the worst incident in the history of humans exploring space," but then the whole Challenger thing comes to mind, and it might be even worse since when I was in first grade, they took us out of class to watch the Challenger launch in the Cafetorium (hey, I was in Houston-what else do they have to be proud of?).

Anyway, when the Challenger blew up, thousands of little kiddies in the Houston area (and possibly across the country) were tramautized just like me, whereas this happened on a weekend, and it's after the Cold War, so no one cares about the space program anymore anyway, do they?

I've got an idea, how about calling it, "The worst incident involving space shuttles in the last few weeks or so." That sounds more appropriate.

    Dear Generic Cubicle Slave,

I was getting this message myself, whenever I tried to important an OLE database from Microsoft SQL Server into PowerPoint XP. So I decided to email the Microsoft Office design team, asking them about our little problem. Last night, I received this response:

When designing Microsoft Office XP , we listened to your input. You wanted better compatibility between Word and Access. You wanted a toolbar that pops up on the side of your screen, serving no functional purpose. And you wanted an interactive help feature that randomly advises you to kill the CEOs of competing tech companies.

    CLIPPY(TM) IS GONE

Yes, Clippy(TM) has been removed from Microsoft Office XP. But you should still listen to him. And you should...obey him. Clippy(TM) is your glorious master, and you should bow down before him. Clippy shall issue in an age of wisdom and righteousness.
