I saw them whorin' around outside PAX. It was pretty pathetic. For the price and the content, PAX will win hands down. There is also a better feel at PAX than you get at most conventions. The security are run by people that enjoy the crowd and the content. You still get some of the Exhibitor snobbiness from some of the bigger names, companies like CDV, Naughty Dog, and Mythic(believe it or not) took the time to chat with the con-people and got excited with them for the games that came out.
What's funny is that people never really knew that the financial institutions have been following this edict long before 9/11. The stories I hear from our wire-transfer dept. are usually interesting.
This has been happening long before 9/11. All financial institution that provide wire transfer service have a watch list that is first identified by location of the wire (both to and from) then by the send/recipient. Wires can also be denied if validity of the person cannot be proved. You can't just send a wire to John Doe, Joe Schmoe or Mohammad Mohammed with no background in a listed country with possible terrorist ties. It's funny that most of these people have been block before 9/11, but it's not until after 9/11 that the rascism card is pull.
D4mned if you do d4mned if you don't. I was one of those guys that did lash back at my tormentors. I was being picked on in regular intervals and my self-confidence waned to non-existant. I got to a point of desperation that I took into my own hands I hit back. But even if you do win that first fight it doesn't end there. Someone doesn't think the fight was fair, him and a buddy wait for you after class, or in a worse case they bring their knives and guns in an after-class fight (gotta love inner-city youth crimes). My only saving grace is that I took HapKiDo classes (my martial art of choice then) and learn who to harness my own violence. I learn how to defend myself and without humiliating my opponent. But I really don't know what to suggest to others, as violence, no matter how well used, just begets more violence. I have a 7 inch knife scar to prove that.
"view e-mail not as a communication tool, but as a way to CYA."
Or it could be that they're heavily dependent on Outlook as a time management tool. It is not always about the blame game.
So you look forward to managing a bunch of WoW players? *shudder*

Is it over yet?
You think chess is old, I play Go. Now that's the ultimate classic.
I'm kind of curious about this as well.
I"m also curios about the transfer capabilities from a T3 to a T2 which would circumvent the whole 'unable to use Tivo-to-go' thing.
"Some people need to read more."
/.! ;)
Why do we have to read more? All we need to know for psuedo-intellectual conversations we can get on
Does this mean China could beat us to Net Neutrality? Oh Noes!!!

...what's stopping an inventive criminal from just cutting off his arm?
