    I don't get the comparison. Do you pay MS for that level of support? Couldn't you pay the linux company for that support as well?

    It seems the story is about how crap support you got from the linux company compared to MS, rather than any open/closed source issue.

    epsilon is then a hyperreal number, not a real number. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperreals

    More typically you say 1 - epsilon with epsilon an arbitrarily small number, such as 0.0001

    You mean like the idea to send up a school teacher? That idea was tried but got blown out of the water. Well she was blown out of the rocket anyway.

    I don't think anyone wants to risk the same thing happening twice.

    I went to ireland twice.

    The first time was when the foot and mouth epidemic was at it's highest. I did the tour around ireland (North and South) and I loved it.

    The second time I went to Dublin and stayed there for a week. I really hated it. Dublin has got to be the most expensive city I've ever stayed in - and I grew up in London. I would go into a restuarant and order Lasagna for example at an extraordinary price, and they would serve just Lasagna. That's it - no salad, no vegetables, nothing.
    There was also a large number of homeless sleeping everywhere in the middle of the day!

    Still, I did manage to get the train a few times and escape Dublin which was good fun.

    There have been many tests. If you take a group of people, and look at their face structure and make a model of it (so getting rid of skin colour, make-up etc preferences) then everybody will sort the faces in order of beauty in almost exactly the same way.
