Interestingly, during the dark ages it was the christian church that protected much of science and scientific writings. I can't reference on google at the moment.. too many "christian science" hits.
I do wonder how, of all people, microsoft gets away with it. You can't attach files, for example, in hotmail with non-IE (firefox or konqueror at least). And msn purposefully given bad html specifically to firefox. How on earth do they get away with it?
Go for it anyway. Most women date older men, and the rest would consider it. I know lots of 18-25 year old women dating 30-45+ men. Women like the maturity.
i'm amazed they don't have sick leave. I didn't know that existed in the western world. And that's on top of americans working harder. ( I don't know how true that stereotype is - but don't most of them do/require 10+ hours every day? )
Also what went wrong with the doctor thing? It's private right, so theoritically captilism should insure a decent level of service, no?
Here in the UK I've never had a bad problem with the GP. Sometimes I do have to wait a while to see the doctor, but that's because they tend to talk to the patient for longer.
Actually you've raised more questions than answered. What's an example of a women serving a position above men? I take it you don't mean like a female boss because you gave the president example (and here in the UK we've had a female prime minister).
Also the "overly sexual jerks" just reinforces my point about christians tend to be prude about the whole sex thing. They still want it, and do it, but then they have guilt trips over it which from what I can see screws them up.
Also your gay beliefs aren't very Christian - doesn't the bible tell you its a sin etc etc.
Also my problem isn't when Christians preach to other grownups - I don't see that much - but when they preach to their children. Then people like me end up dating these screwed up females with conflicting beliefs. Just try asking christians whether say Ghandi should go to hell. Almost all say yes ( I haven't had someone say no), since he wasn't christian. And you wonder why people dislike christians and the children are screwed up.
Nothing personal;)
As for the DRM.. hmm I can't even remember what your point was. I just got annoyed that you brought the whole 'I'm Christan and more moral than you' crap in.
This is why I'm starting to hate Christians. They always think they are so moral and heathens are immoral. Of course when it comes to gay rights or female equality suddenly their morals go to shit. Christian's morality is their own - and anyone that doesn't agree with it is moral. I've had girlfriends that have to pray for hours after sex because its 'immoral' and all that christian crap that they're force fed. You screw each other up and you don't even realize it.
Agreed. I was paying for myself to go to college to do programming in C and C++ at 10, and I found that too easy. I had advanced city & guilds in both C and C++ by 14. Later than this girl, but I could have done it a lot earlier imho.
You also need a quite high powered laser. I've got a 30mW green, and projecting that over 1m^2 once you have all the optics in, is barely visible in darkness. (I do holography)
It's not stupid to suspect that research that showed acupuncture to work was incorrect.
And going through your own link, the first one says: "There was no significant difference in the following outcome measures between the active and sham acupuncture groups."
The next few say similar things. What's your point again?
Oh come on. What God-given right do you have to minimum wage laws or minimum health and safety standards in companies? Rights and freedoms are whatever we decide we want them to be. Some freedoms we (society) give up (freedom to kill someone) and some we don't (freedom for companies to have whatever safety they want).
The question is whether we want to give up the right/freedom to play games without continually asking their server for permission or not.
In your case, it's a freedom you don't mind giving up, in the parent's case it's a freedom he isn't willing to give up.
Personally I'd rather err on the side of 'too many' freedoms than too little, and strongly dislike steam. That and I don't have an internet connection which means I can't play it at home, but that's beside the point.:)
Anyway, we as a society chose which freedoms we want. You can chose your way and the parent can chose theirs. Time will tell which way it swings.
Proprietary! Makes it hard to use in a proprietary project!
Also for the other side - I wonder how many people use BSD without thinking enough and then being surprised when companies use it without giving anything back.
Windows has the same problem. It wasn't until XP that you can even open zip files. And even XP doesn't come with a DVD player ( I think... might be wrong) but certaintly non-XP has no dvd player. And it barely comes with any oodecs so you can't even play movies without hunting around for them.
And then there's the driver problem. In linux all my hardware is detected and its all up and running. Windows I have to hunt around and try to work out which mobo drivers I need (and god help me if I've lost the cd or can't remember which motherboard it is). And the sound card. And the usb drivers etc.
Think of it as a computer game. It's like being frustrated when you die in game, despite you not choosing the easiest level. If you wanted to just win a game you'd pick the easiest level. it's all about a challenge as well.
Barclays bank (a UK bank) had a coding competition, and for part of it they showed us (the competitors) around their offices and server rooms. They told us that one of the night staff saw what he thought was smoke rising from one of the big cabinates. Turned out later it was just very dusty with the dust being blown out through the cases, and with the lighting... Anyway so the night security guy panics and hits the big red button as he was taught. This shuts off all the power in the room for all the servers. He panics even more and brings the power back on.
Then the guy telling us this (management) told us they 'obviously' fired the guy and now have a replacement. I incrediously asked if they have some other system in place now in case this happens again. He hestitantly said no but supposes something should be done.
Worst part was the management guy clearly didn't see anything wrong here.
So yeah, i can fully believe fire the person who made the mistake and believe everything is fixed.
Agreed, but most women agree more readily to oral than anal.
What porn have you seen where women have orgasms from giving blow jobs??? torrent links are fine ;)

Photon mapping isn't raytracing. Also check Radiosity

jeez, which country do you live in?

Nothing like what you describe.
On the power leads, red is 5V and yellow is 12V, for both floppy and hard disks.
I don't get your post..

Maybe they wanted to know if the problem exists with only a few hundred records. It's called process of elimination.
hmm, but the total energy reaching your eyes per second is the same. Does it make much difference?

AMD put money into GCC and hire some of the developers, so I guess that would be 'their' compiler.
In fact, the linux kernel guys gave their input for the 64bit version and iirc got a few instructions added/changed.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Linux needs to grow up because _you_ and your company locked yourself into a bad format?
