    That's where batteries are useful. A relatively tiny battery - a couple of liters worth - will put out a few dozen kw of power, then after which time automobile power consumption drops by a factor of 10.

    Diesel is always cheaper but the tax is higher.

    Imagine spending your evenings getting your raspberry pi communicating wirelessly with your arduino then being stuck for hours in a class where where you learn the difference between a file and a folder.

    Worse than destroying pay is destroying moral. There's nothing more painful than working with a bunch of unmotivated and uninterested people. The motivated people are going to "learn computers" without being forced to go to a class.

    vehicles have gone from tiny foam based vehicles

    You have that backwards. Tiny and foam based is only about 10-15 years old (thanks to lithium polymer batteries and electronic miniaturization). Vehicles used to be large, 2m+, and powered by a 2kg, 1kw loud methanol or diesel powered motor.

    I forked the linux kernel in 1998, porting it to a new processor that the company I was working for was developing. Seventeen year later, linux appears to be fine in much the same way my old company isn't.

    What I use Facebook mainly for is to reach out to and keep in touch with other people.

    I use email for this and have for over 30 years.
