Absolutely. They were ALL ABOUT "Buy American" for years and then when they got big enough, they used their size to crush competition by lowering prices by going to offshore companies.
There's a ton of websites out there chronicaling WalMart's abuses.
I remember some years back listening to the Howard Stern show, and he played clips of several ST cast members doing song covers. The one I remember the most is Leonard Nimoy doing a cover of Johnny Cash's "I Walk The Line". Yeow.
A handful of us in the Chicago Linux Users Group got these drives for free THREE YEARS AGO (fall 2000) for testing them out under Linux and giving feedback on them.
Mine's collected dust ever since. Media was like $20 a pop. For 640MB (?!?!) No thanks. I did tell them this too.
When I saw this article posted I was hoping they had a new model that had a larger storage capacity.
I predict that at some point in the future it will become a crime, or at least very strongly looked-down upon, to send compressible (redundant) data over public networks in uncompressed form.
This was a loooong time ago, but there was a story posted about someone, I think it was an Apple higher-up, and the first post was that guy and his post of simply "Yup."

NO! I see this claimed constantly, and its simply not true.
AOL IM has many times the active users of MSN's IM software. Now, thats not counting "has the client installed", which would mean almost all Windows users. Most of them don't use it though! My sister had no idea what it even was until I told her! I'm betting msot people are the same way.

The warehouse they ship a lot of stuff from is in Lexington. And I hope you used a credit card to order, then you can dispute the charges, and Amazon would take notice.:)
Kind of a sidetrack, does anyone even use ICQ anymore? I thought everyone was driven off of there by the endless stream of bots. My friends list of 250 people never seems to have more than 5-6 people online anymore.

People bought more CDs when Napster was around because back in '99-'00, anyone who could spell MCSE could get a high paying IT job. :)
You bit the troll's bait, dude. "Geek" has been on my foes list for a while for that very reason.

I wish I had a mod point to give you. Those people who whine about the NYT registration annoy the crap out of me.
For as much as I use it, its worth it to me.
