My Treo 650 does some real weird things sometimes. My 650 will freeze for up to 20 seconds, at least once a day.
I have friends who own the Palm version of the 700 and these do some very weird things. They reboot themselves constantly, email is very flaky, syncing to Mac computers is so-so at best. Basically syncing is a crapshoot.
I find this to be a good thing and I hope the linux version will be a more stable OS than Palm.
Any cell phone that doesn't have me wishing to toss it through a window after 1 month of initial use, someone tell me, I'd gladly buy it.
I'd love to get a symbian phone but Verizon doesn't have it. I loathe Verizon. I was a t-mobile customer and I really miss the GSM phones. I think once my contract ends with Verizon I will go back to t-mobile or cingular.
"EMI Netherlands has announced that it is considering no longer using DRM on CDs, because it isn't worth the cost.
We could have told you that, but since when did you guys ever listen to your customers?
From the article: 'Critics have argued that the system has not worked as consumers could be driven to illegal sites to download music to the popular iPod instead. A spokeswoman for EMI said it had not manufactured any new disks with DRM, which restricts consumers from making copies of songs and films they have purchased legally, for the last few months.'"
Did you ever think we, as consumers, when buying a CD, want to make backups, import the CD to our Ipod or other MP3 player?
It's amazing how management runs these companies. How can you deliver a product your customer wants when you don't even listen to what they WANT?
How can you fine somone under the age of 18? They are not a legal adult.
"Minnesota lawmakers hoped their approach - penalizing the minors who got the games, instead of the retailers who sold or rented them - would have fared better in court than overturned state laws that went after retailers in Illinois, California, Michigan and elsewhere."
That's real good, fine your customers. Who these lawyers talk to the RIAA? The retailers should definitely do a better job of not selling to minors. Can they ask for ID?
Parents need to just step up and pay more attention to what their children are doing, until the become an adult, and do what they want.
I watched an episode of B5 once and I was like this show sucks! But then a friend told me, no no no, you need to watch it from the beginning. Luckily, being in the tech field, a fellow co-worker had all episodes on VHS tapes and gladly let me borrow them to convert me to the cult, er, I mean let me enjoy the show.
I spent a few weeks going through all the episodes of the series. I believe at the time, we were at the start of season 4.
I ended up LOVING B5, and it became one my favorite shows of all time! Everything about the show was great and even though things were iffy in the last 2 seasons, the show was great.
Would I, as a big fan of B5, want to see these shwos about the past of the characters? MAYBE. I am more interested about the future, that's just the way I am. Others way want to know more about the past of the characters, but I agree with the parent, I'm not so sure many people will want this.
This is not as easy as you may think. This is the way I bought my Photoshop copy. First, if you get an older/used copy and it's already been registered you need to have the person who registered it, TRANSFER the ownership to you. You need to get the form from Photoshop and have both parties fill it out and sign it and sending it to Adobe.
The question then comes up is "where can I buy it used or an older copy"
I bought mine on Ebay but after a few weeks of going through all the fakes on there. If you find one that VERY low priced, chances are it's a fake in form or another.
One option Adobe may still be doing is if you own Adobe Elements 3.0 or above, you can get the full version of Photoshop, as an upgrade, for the price of $299. That is pretty good to get a lefit copy of of Photoshop brand new.
"Theoretically," says Azim Premji, chairman and founder of India outsourcing company Wipro Ltd., "anything on a network can be managed remotely from India."
Oh really? I learned a LOT of theory based ideas in school, but once I entered the working world, the REAL world, things were vastly different.
Look how popular iTunes and AACs and MP3s are. Can't figure that one out.
How about ease of use/ease of download/convenience? All reason why people are flocking to iTunes for their music, and the quality, while audiophobes may sneer at, for the general public it's great.
And if it wasn't for the Internet, he added, 'you guys would be completely out of business.'
Somewhat true, but the porn industry has been VERY resourceful and has been able to use technology to their advantage for years. They were the first to really push deeply(bad pun intended) the DVD market.

Yes maybe for the average user it's a hassle but for me, I LOVE NoScript. It does what I want and allows me to filter websites.
I actually use AdBlock as well, another nice extension.
I used to have VideoDownloader but then I realized I wasn't using it...I found no need to download those videos.
Scribefire, another one that I tried and never used...Gone from my FireFox
Ooops, looks like slashdot cut me off at page 2....

Maybe the media companies were WAITING for YouTube to be bought by someone with $$$ so they could eventually sue?
Right. Who's to say other companies won't follow Viacom? I'm sure other companies will be watching(no doubt on YouTube LOL) closely...
Is THAT a Wi-Fi Penetration Tester in your pocket or are you just happy to see me? ;)
If you don't like the iPod, don't buy one.
If you don't like iTunes and Apple's DRM scheme, don't buy from the Apple music store.
Am I missing something here?
There are hundreds of MP3 players you can buy to play many types of music formats.
Shawn anyway you can show me this?
You can reply to this comment or email me. I'm running OS X...Thanks!

If you are in a public setting and can be photographed, why can't you photograph a police officer in a public setting?
It's not a real book on "Building Scalable Web Sites" unless there's a chapter titled : ;)

Dear Dave,
As an American, I want to personally thank YOU for your service to this country.
In the section entitled "Block quotes by the Dozen" the author mentions the so-called "gray area".
:)
Yah, it's that BULLSHIT?

The new temperature on Pluto according to scientists is 43 degrees Kelvin.
That's nothing, my ex girlfriend easily was the coldest object in our solar system. She had to be way colder than that.
