Normandy is also much, much closer to the supply lines coming from the UK. Also much closer to air cover from UK based airfileds and naval cover from battleships protected by said aircraft.
I already did this when playing with an arduino and stepper motors. Accidentally bridged the 12v motor power supply with the 5v usb rail and poof! computer rebooted and came back up without sound. turns out i'd release the magic smoke from the on board sound controller.
My understanding was that they still weren't allowed to spy on them directly, only indirectly. So if they were spying on someone or doing mass surveillance and happened to pick up something going to/from an MP then it was ok,
I see little reason why Facebook should face a big tax liability in the UK: the UK didn't build Facebook, its employees are well rewarded and pay stiff taxes, and the UK is already compensated for its troubles through numerous other taxes
Speaking as a UK citizen, if Facebook wants to operate in the UK then it should pay taxes on the profits it generates here, but they don't. They charge ridiculous fees from their Irish EU HQ and so they claim they earned no profit. If any business was truly earning no profit on operations in any given country then they would withdraw operations from that country, but the fact that none of the multinationals do this shows that it is all a tax fraud, albeit a currently legal one.
If they dont want to pay taxes on profits generated in a country then they are free to choose not to operate in that country.
as an owner of three Rpi and four arduinos and two PIC board (one with an FPGA as well) plus three FX2LP 8051 High speed USB micro boards, i can safely say none is better. It depends on the application.
surely it's the same as cars tho. you should be signalling before the maneuver anyway, so you should have time to replace you hands on the bike before you start to turn/stop.
I'll post as non AC and call bullshit on the advertisements. I havent seen a single thing like the OP is suggests. Perhaps there is a tile on the start menu that does it but since i cleaned my start down and only have tiles for stuff i want (and re-enabled the win8 full screen start too since it's bigger (hence better)) there's no way i'd see those..
It's not really a false premise at all. It's all about quantities. A certain level of CO2 is OK, desirable in fact, but above that level it starts to become a problem. Same thing with water, nitrogen etc.
you need to do a clean install. Seriously anyone who buys a PC or laptop from an OEM and doesnt do a clean install is asking for it not to work. If you've windows 8 (or 8.1) you should be able to download a clean install iso from MS and do it. all you need to do is backup your data (but you have that already, dont you...)
the problem is that people see the notification that updates are ready and then they keep clicking postpone because reasons. I am as guilty of this as anyone, my work PC never gets shutdown because I hate waiting for it to start up again. I've had updates pending for up to three weeks before. If there were any 0-day exploits that had fixes pending i'd be vulnerable the whole time.
Basically forcing updates to reboot is addressing that. And while I may swear when i go to home (Windows 10) pc and find it's rebooted for updates overnight, I don't mind and I wouldnt disable it because I know i'd just leave the damn thing pending for a while and forget to do it myself.
Having said that, i'd like the auto-update-and-reboot be a bit smarter and signal apps that an update reboot is occurring and then the apps save their state, then after the reboot i'd like it to log me back in and fire up the apps to their pre-reboot state. That's the ideal situation i think
in the UK a named driver has the same insurance cover when driving the car as the policy holder (so long as they have the permission of the car owner to drive it at the time, if you don't have permission you're not insured by that policy). You dont get any notifications from the insurance company.
I'm a named driver on my wife's policy, as well as my mum and my dad. my insurance covers me for driving other cars (so long as i have the owners permission) but it only covers me third party; that is to say it'll only payout to fix damage to others not to me or the car i'm driving.
It's worth know why Fukushima failed then. It failed, not because it got hit by a massive earthquake. Not because it got hit by a massive tsunami. It failed because the backup diesel generators for the coolant pumps were located in the basement and got flooded. Seriously. it's one of those things that no-one considers until it's too late. But now we know. Now we can build un-floodable backup generators. With blackjack. and hookers. Ah forget the power plant.

plus they now have a show entirely about baking! what more could women want? well, perhaps one about laundry and another about vacuuming i suppose.
Yes Minister/Prime Minister should be compulsory viewing in schools so people understand the political processes of this great country!

Might have picked up on it wrong tho

problem is that a war on guns would target people who can fight back, war on drugs target people who are too stoned to.
its developers take pride in that they don't break compatibility
The fuck you say?

I know it's going to run against the slashdot hive mind think, but soap opera SF is exactly how i felt about the battlestar galactica remake
because that's worked out so well for you in recent history...
The state should keep my secrets tho. and my secrets include for whom i voted.

What the hell do you think IT does? Sit around all day playing Quake?
From my experience; you find things that aren't broken then fix them until they are.
i dont need build in threads. threads are easy. really easy. so is thread locking when you use RAII to do it. I like shared_ptr tho.
no. they use C because there isnt a c++ compiler for the platform.
you're missing a marketing opportunity! stealth missiles! they'll never know what hit them! patent pending.
