I understand that smells like fart is not usually a good thing, but is is just a sulfur emanation without any risk of bacterial infection? I'm nor a good chemist nor biologist, so this is where I stop.
I think that in the latter half of the 60s and part of the 70s, most people did look up to the astronauts, but hardly the scientists.
Fortunately, some did.
An interesting enough proposition, but I'm not convinced, at least yet.
I did not live those times myself, but I would have guessed that even though Einstein and von Braun had their fame, most normal people had their long term attention focused on things they could better understand.
First, lets keep in mind that this is 'research' by a consortium with a vested interest. Second, that by using the words "shitty countries pirate software more than rich countries" you pretty much established that your horse has wandered away from any moral high grounds.
I'm not saying that all people with high IQ will automatically use open source software, not even that the majority of people that have high IQs will use open source software. Just that it is more likely to happen if they have an high IQ.
By "Atheism can be a religion too", it was perhaps being suggested that some people cannot seem to help but to try forcing their beliefs unto others, whether they believe in deities or not.
For the sake of .. hem.. research..

This is not in the realm of 'basic' science, but most likely Quantum Physics.
Common hoaxes are usually easily shown to be just that using measurements, and measurements is why this is still being investigated.
Why not let the scientific process take its course before dismissing it as a hoax?
Its true.
Imagine if they could somehow tie Pokemon Go, systemd and Trump in the same headline.
Phones have GPS receivers from which you can determine the speed.
You don't even need instant speed, so no calculus required.
Changing his attitude will make no difference whatsoever.
You are obviously being dense on purpose.
Says who? The Anonymous Coward who hasn't done anything ever?
Careful: you just misdirected someone to trash his/her existing profile.
That should be:
echo "alias dir='ls -l'" >> ~/.profile
I don't know the expertise level of the poster, so I was suggesting something simple to try interactively.
Had I wanted to be 'fancy' I would have suggested:
alias ll='ls -alFSo'
alias dir='ls -l'
Where did it go from green to unsafe?

It is not about the name of the moderator, but what are you calling them out on.
Saying that you are right doesn't make you so. Believing that you are right is just that, a belief.
If you have a view point, back it up with arguments, not emotions.
If your water is wet, it's not cold enough.
I live in Canada.
Perhaps a 'beeping' sound after a few minutes / seconds?
They are certainly not shy to buzz you incessantly if you have your seat-belt off!

Did people even look up to the "Rocket Kids"?
"in these times being an intellectual is a no-no."
As opposed to which times?
Or his Windows auto-correct really blows?
You would, and can.
I might pay double if they would drop the data collection.
Triple if I can play with my friends over the Internet with an open source server.

I'm not sure why you are telling me this.
You can believe or not believe what ever you want; I really don't care.
The good news is you can go to Africa too. I like Senegal, but love the Ivory Coast.

And depending on how it plays out, you might wonder if the race wasn't a setup and the F1 driver was in on it.
