    If you want to experience the highest level of greediness in ham-radio, sdr is the way to go. Plenty of very nasty people there, equally distributed between developers and users, with many unexperienced and confused people in between.

    I think that in Europe we have more than 20 different plugs for mains connections. EV Chargers are a good occasion for industry and EU bureaucracy to bring into use a dozen more plug formats, and for sure it will not be missed.

  7. Windows, Linux, C++, python, agile, scrum, ....
    Every new technology raises hopes, PHBs make plans, and then technical people are left into the mud, and have to help themselves.
    Strangely, this did not happen when we coded in FORTRAN IV, but for sure it wasn't the language that was up to expectations, we just had few PHBs, all of them had a *sound* technical background, and there was no internet trumpeting every minute a new technology that solves everything real now, soon.

  15. I bought a copy of NYT today and I put it in the pocket of my overcoat. After a few minutes I smelled something strange, and suddendly I realized that smoke was coming out of my pocket. If I knew about Samsung ad, I would have been enclosed the newspaper into a fire-proof box.
