The way everyone is acting, youd think that someone had organized a nude protest in downtown Brittania.

Besides, exactly how much rioting can happen in an online game anyway? Sooner or later everyones mother will get sick of the noise and send the kiddies to bed.

I dont want a phone that takes pictures manages my phone book, maintains a calander, plays games, plays music, has fancy ring tones and costs $150.00 (or more). I want a phone that makes calls and rings when it gets calls - thats it.

While I did pay Microsoft for Office for Mac, I try to avoid filling their coffers whenever possible, so for all the family/friends who rely on me for computer recommendations I recommend Mac or Linux.

Sounds like maybe you need to put your money where your mouth is pal. You use office but tell everyone else not to?

Isn't this sort of thing a little irresponsible?

Every time some thing cool comes up, it seems lke it suddenly becomes cool to find ways to misuse it under the guise of hacking.

Wireless networks are a great innovation which will be destroyed by a bunch of geeks with pringles cans on the roof of their cars.

  14. Comparisons to Vietnam are foolish. on Afghanistan Is Like Nothing You've Ever Seen · · Score: 1

People always bring up Vietnam anytime America
begins a military action. The same types of stories were printed up 10 years ago for Desert Storm.
I'd say its a little silly to think that the american military has forgotten the Vietnam war,
after all, we lived it. If you dont think we learned from the experiance, check our track record.
There is a large difference between the goals that Russia had in Afghanistan and the American goals. Russia wanted to control the region, to make Afghanistan a part of the USSR. America doesn't want Afghanistan.
Once we have what we are there for, we're gone.

  15. I am SOO pissed about this. on Portable Linux Box · · Score: 1

This is exactly what I always though a portable PC should be like. Stick it in your pocket to take with you, plug in a monitor and keyboard to use it at home. No need for a laptop or Palmtop. One computer for all the jobs you can think of.
Im just pissed off about it because I just bought a visor, Now it seems like a poor substitute.

  17. I refuse to vote for the lesser of two evils on Should You Vote? · · Score: 1

I believe that we should all vote, but I dont believe that I have an obligation to choose the candidate I dislike the least. I dont think I'll be showing up for this election, not because Im disinterested or apathetic, but because Im honestly appalled by the selection of candidates. It almost seems as if the process of choosing candidates is designed to weed out the people who would be good at the job.

  20. Will the linux davinci synch with linux? on Linux on DaVincis · · Score: 3

I like my davinci, but it seems to me that the big complaint (along with the crappy hand writing recognition ) is the fact that you cant synch with linux.
If they use Linux for an OS but still require win98 to synch I think they may be missing the idea.

  21. A parents point of view on Genetically Engineered Children · · Score: 1

I doubt that anyone who isnt a parent could even begin to understand the feelings that go through me when I see another parent with a sick child.
Fear that it could have been my child, joy that it wasnt, shame for feeling that way in the first place.
Any parent who wouldnt take EVERY step possible to ensure that their own child is spared that type of pain and suffering doesnt deserve to have children.
If the opportunity came to me, Id take it. Id feel badly for the people who couldnt. But Id still take it.
Once it becomes about kids you cant base your decisions on the outcome of science fiction movies.

It is hard to describe the type o fear that I feel when I allow myself to think of the kinds of things that could have happened to my children as a result of the genetic lottery.
