When you read the Note on the Text for the ebook of LoTR, which was excellently done, you see how much effort it takes to get a good copy. "The Victorian Internet", OTOH, is a crappy OCR. Much of the action took place in "Rritain", and sometimes entire words are rendered as "????" when the OCR broke down.
How many of these people have seen these diseases? I'm 45 and I've never seen smallpox, measles, or most other childhood diseases. I had chicken pox when I was 5 or 6, before the vaccine. That's it. I have seen kids with autism (and, like many slashdotters, probably fall somewhere in the "autism spectrum"). So which do you think most parents (in the West) are afraid of? The disease that none of them have ever seen, or the disorder that many of then have seen?
If you put a frog in a pot of water and slowly raise the temperature it will try to jump out before the water reaches a temperature that is fatal to the frog.
Properly written.Net apps should run unchanged (needing, at most, a recompile) on Arm. I've written apps (in the.Net 2 days) that ran on XP and CE.Net devices with just a recompile.
Archos doesn't. I have an old Archos 605, and really wanted to get a 70 internet tablet, which was supposed to ship in early October. It still hasn't shipped, and I have a Nook Color.
How? Someone (commonly referred to as a "cable company") has to run and maintain the cable. It's inefficient to have multiple cables running to the same place, which is how you end up with monopolies.
Nothing wrong with that. A piece of paper in my wallet is reasonably secure, and I'll notice fairly quickly if it's missing. Especially if I use an algorithmic password.
Whatever happened to the scrappy twenty-somethings I met at the Hilton annex at Comdex?

Took about 15 seconds to find.
Yeah, you can buy LG! Because they're so much better! Or Apple! Or..
Actually, I hear HTC and Samsung are pretty good.

They're pretty big in that space.
Metric shitload, or English?
"Cyberwar" is just a propaganda term, and doesn't really exist.
Right?
here.
I bet PoF used double Rot-13 encryption.
I went to high school there! On G'Town Pike.

$199 for a 16-gigabyte version, $299 for the 32 GB model. Comes in white or black.
It also counts as physical evidence for black holes evaporating,
Or perhaps there isn't enough gas falling into it to excite it.

It was supposed to be appalling.

fighting and mating rituals.
I so need to update my holiday traditions. Even the Airing of Grievances doesn't hold a candle to that.
(Stolen from here.
And freedom to do what?
Who are the ISPs customers? You and me? Or are we the product?

They gave in, and allowed the Democrats to impose regulation on the internet.
That is the cave you're referring to, right?

Here.
Too many places I've been where you want a laptop or video viewer, but don't have cloud access.
