That's not good.. The only way M$ can try to defeat Linux is to become the "one true Linux" to the world. This would mean releasing their own distro and supporting it just long enough to fool the real world into thinking M$ == Linux, and then *BAM* they'll pull an ActiveX and conveniently "forget" that their Microsoft Linux product ever existed.
RedHat will be showing a new portal this week (it's not available yet) which will include "everything that a Linux user need"
So that's why Rob was logged in from dhcpsomething.redhat.com a few weeks ago.. And here I was thinking that Redhat was going to buy out slashdot. Oh well, I hope nobody pays attention to all the rumours spread on SlashNET then.:)
Perhaps redhat and VA could cooperate on making linux.com a portal site.. Now that would be interesting to see..
I can just envision Rob and company touring all the clubs in the city.. Like those roxbury guys from SNL.. except the song playing is the RMS remix mp3.;>
I'd hate to have to destroy years worth of my own work. That's just about the lowest blow a programmer can take. Jeez, at least let him keep a few zip disks with the data on it.
So since a majority of the traffic is internet-bound, I won't be able to access local servers (mail, news, etc.) without incurring extra charges? Brilliant.
So the neet fact that the image is smaller is basically crushed by the time/space/bandwidth it takes to install proprietary extensions to decode said "small" image. Foo.
Then again, you'd probably end up in Singapore..
Maybe I'll give it a try..

It's only a matter of time...

This guy just reeks of Microsoft. Enter his name in AltaVista's photo search for a few pics of him before he got his "new look".

Hey!! It's RMS!
Byte me.
Ooh, SlashNET.. Isn't that the place with those people that do stuff or something? Thought so.

Stilltimelefttobookaflight.. Stilltimelefttobookaflight.. Stilltimelefttobookaflight..
Nice colors.. Better than linux.org at any rate.

The neat part is that the load never passed 0.40, and that's on a 486-class box! Yay FreeBSD!
On another note, the DNS load from it crushed one of our BSDI BSD/OS name servers, which required a reboot.
heh heh heh
Uh oh...

If this guy is really a low-level employee at M$, you can bet he'll be looking for work tomorrow morning.
Bell Titanic strikes again.
Or so we're lead to believe...
