It is similiar to how you can only split your cable so many times before your digital cable box stops functioning. With cable, you have all of the channels being sent to the house at once but you can only have 3 or 4 boxes before the signal degrades too much. With IPTV, from what I understand, is the channel is streamed from a server on the telecom's side to your set-top box. In essence it sounds like you can only have 3 standard iptv boxes or one hd iptv box. I could be wrong.. i haven't seen any technical articles about it
Thats because most ECUs are read only. Certain car companies are a bit more open about it (Honda, Audi/VW, etc) and will allow you to change certain aspects of the ECU output but not modify critical parts. Example, I can modify how my A4 calculates it's gas mileage but I cannot modify it's fuel maps. Race car drivers that have laptops hooked up to their cars can tune every minute detail because they have a modified ECU to allow them to do so. Aftermarket ECUs exist for many high performance cars, but they are generally locked as well to avoid any liability issues.
i.e. if everyone standing in line is annoyed (which sounds like what happened).
other examples: driving around neighborhood with 1000 watts of music coming out of your trunk
hosting a party with 400+ people without asking/warning neighbors
so if you have a party in the middle of a forest and a cop happens to drive by, you won't get a ticket for a public nuisance (but possibly other violations if there are any). and for the college kids out there where police use this excuse to break up parties, ignore it until you have to go to court over it. then ask all of your neighbors to come and testify that you were not bothering them.
Now go to your state's statutes and look up alcohol and noise complaints, those are the two spots you will most likely find a statute about public nuisances. Just because you are too dumb to understand the law doesn't mean you are exempt from it.
someone obviously has no clue of how tivo works. our tivo sits between our cable box and tv and changes the channel on the cable box automagically. cable is already 'encoded' which cable ready tvs can decode. change that scheme and you break a few million tv sets.
do you even know how a tivo works or are you taking wild guesses and posting in hopes to get mod points?
haha the sad thing is that has actually happened to me. my gf tells all her friends "i have a better internet without all the popups and stuff and i can still get on aim". i tried to explain it to them but their eyes just glaze over as they ignore me, so i just tell them its the better internet.
Well, I'm sorry for having a pointless conversation with you. You obviously know everything there is to know about setting up wireless access points. I'm also pretty sure you know that every building is designed the same. And as for people who actually use cable conduits in their ceilings, i'm sure they readily label each cable as it runs through so they can quickly sift through 500+ cables to find the one that is powering a wireless access point. If you'll excuse me, this will be my last reply.. I have better things to do than argue with trolls
What are you talking about. I was saying, if someone can unplug your ethernet access point, then YOU have bigger problems to worry about. We can guarantee the safety of our wireless access points. As soon as one is unplugged, we are alerted. If we see that the AP has been unplugged, we can check back over our DVR and prove it was tampered with/stolen/whatever and pursue appropriate action.
Now if you would be kind enough to return to the original topic and reread your post, you are saying someone can tamper with your access point. Whats to say someone can't tamper with a switch thats in the same location? The only thing you have done is removed the need to call an electrician in to run power to arbitrary locations. Maybe you don't have to worry about budgeting, but some places do and electricians can get pricey depending on the job and the number of receptacles needed
your ethernet cables do run through the ceilings and walls to your secured network room, right? and you have security cameras to make sure joe blow doesn't walk in with a 10ft ladder to mess with said cables.. right? ok, just checking.
And this comes from someone who doesn't have a minidv camera... The current crop of mini-dv tapes hold roughly 10gb of data. 120gb is a big step from mini-dv.
who has her brand spanking new $35 lexmark which requires funky ass control panels to start with the computer to operate properly. also when you start removing well known programs, you get more tech support calls "Where did my program(s) go???".
i have found the easiest way to clean out spyware from a computer that is not my own is to go through the Run keys in both hklm and hkcu and remove anything that looks suspect (novices will probably be better off removing everything). i.e. C:\windows\systray.exe does NOT need to start, nor does C:\windows\system32\asdfjlw12.exe. However, rundll nvDwcpll, start does need to exist (norton antivirus).
Next hit up the services mmc plugin (services.msc) and disable any services they do not need (including upnp discovery, server, workstation, and computer browser if its the only computer in the house). Once that is done, load up BHOdemon and turn off any benign BHOs for IE.
Finally install Firefox and all relevant plugins (flash, java, etc.) and change their desktop IE shortcut and default browser to Firefox (leave internet explorer in their programs menu incase they need to goto an IE-only website like windowsupdate).
This whole process takes me about 10 minutes tops (god bless usb flash drives) and either gets me free drinks or easy money and happy friends that don't come back to me for problems.
Again, this is only for computers that aren't your own. i advocate destroying your own computer in order to learn how spyware works (although virtual pc is a better place to break things:) Also, to save yourself some headaches from the very annoying malware, do the above process in safe mode.
And most self checkout systems have an option to skip placing the item in a bag since it is prone to fuck ups. When they first depolyed it at my local wal-mart and home depot the option to skip wasn't available and several times I ended up having to call someone on duty to reset the machine since it wouldn't realize my item was placed in the bag on the scale.
This has been in the works since the early 90s. I was watching some morning news show sometime around 1992 or 1993 and they showed a van that could park itself without requiring a driver inside. They claimed it would be on the market by 1998 at the latest. I waited and never heard anything else. I was only in 4th or 5th grade at the time so I never followed up on the company that showed it. Ah well, its good to see its finally making it to the market 12 years later
Except the firewall will block incoming connections. Don't go to other sites which will exploit old IE bugs and install spyware/viruses/etc, go straight to windows update after installing windows. That will patch up to SP1.. there is a known bug with the firewall that will leave the machine vulnerable for a few seconds (enough to get infected) during the boot before SP1 finishes (or it may be another patch that fixes it.. i don't remember), this is why you remove the network cable before you boot the second time. After you patch it completely, you can install your firewall suite and virus scanners (as i stated).
I used to do this on a daily basis, before I switched to a fully automated ris build, and never had an infected machine.
It seems like I am correct

legal definition of nuisance.. and this link has a lot of references as well

I think a better question to ask is why do you use AOL? The only thing AOL is good for is porn and illegal software, and that was almost 5 years ago.
