Sorry if you think this post a troll, just a question based upon countless topics posted that have already been posted elsewhere.
Because the answer is never simple and the course of action never clear. Why? Because greed, self interest and preservation of power is the true governer of all nations.
The retirement of the Assualt Weapons Ban is as clear an example as you can get. After the bill became law the well monied minority (the NRA) put their dollars to work not in the lobies, but against the Democratic Congressmen who voted for the ban. The result? The Democrats lost the House majority for the first time in 40 years. So when it came to voting on a renewal, our esteemed and wise President boldly proclaimed that he would support an extension if it passed Congress. Of course he said this with the knowledge that the Democratic minority muchless the Republican majority would touch the issue with a 10 foot pole.
Why? Greed -- voting for it would gaurantee no NRA money for their campaign coffers Self interest -- voting for it would likely put their seat in the house in jeopardy Preservation of Power -- losing their seat would weaken their parties power in the House and jeopardize the party from being able to pass their agendas and block their opponents agendas.
You see, by Bush's stating he would support it if passed was a diplomatic way of saying "Yeah right, like that's gonna happen. But if hell does freeze over, it's got my full support." So he can swing some of the anti-gun groups vote while laughing it up with the NRA who contribute to his cause. Maybe now you understand Bush's 2000 election platform of "compassionate conservative"
Now take the above and apply it back to your post. A candidate must be able to present a "possible course of action" but mince it in such a way to make it appealing across the board and keeping the wording as broad as possible so he's able to compromise on the issue in the event he actually is able to push that agenda. After all, no agenda get's pushed without major concessions to the opposition. So you see, it's not currently possible for a politician to be clear and simple -- the reality of washington would never allow for it.

If you take your action/sci-fi Hollywood-style and find dialogue/plot to be boring, then this is not the movie for you.
To me, this movie is on a level on par with Blade Runner. The world they create in this movie is extremely rich the story is engaging and thought provoking -- they took all the elements of GS:1 and raised it to a new level. I'm definitely hoping for a 3rd installment by the same producers.

"I'd like to start by thanking the brave and strong Americans at home and abroad who have stood by our troops and supported our efforts in the War on Terror. Today I bring news of an even greater threat. Our intellegence shows that a New Dictator has gained power and established a large network of terrorist computer cells in homes and offices around the country. Today we begin our war with another terrorist, a terrorist that is bent on destroying Corporate America and our way of life. Already he has duped many of our citizens and corporations to convert to "Linux" a terrorist organization no less dangerous than Al Qaeda or the brutal Dictatorship of Saddam Hussein. We must band together and stamp out this threat to our liberties and safety. "He is relatively uneducated, no college, he went to an "alternative" high school (meaning: the uneducatable, problem child school)

I believe it is your statements here that give rise to books such as Brave New World, 1984 and other future-dystopias where everyone is but a cog in a State run machine in which free thought, individuality and expression outside the "accepted protocols" are shunned.
Funny how Abraham Lincoln would fit your description of the "uneducatable". He was after all a backwoods boy who had no formative education, grew up in poverty and was in fact self-tought. It was through his individual merits that he became the man we all know and respect.
So your statement shows quite clearly that the US educational institution is in fact not teaching people to be individual, critical thinkers but conformists with a biggotry against people unlike themselves.

yeah, maybe that's why I use half a braincell and follow up with the seller before I commit to a transaction, because when I send a money order for $4,200, I want to make sure I'm not shit out of luck, or maybe you couldn't wrap your pointy little head around that deep concept?
Ohh and my post got modded down as flamebait because I have 0 sympathy for the dumbass who got suckered by some ignorant fuckwad on eBay... boohoo. Next time I'll remember to join in the mindless slashdot chorus and weep for the dumbasses that screw themselves and heed the idiots that answer their own questions. And I'll be sure to go cry for all those dumbshits that suckered by 419 scammers while I'm at it.
