that is what he did for MSN... it wouldn't work for yahoo though... probably returning a "this number is already registered to someone else" error message.
he also ran phpbuilder.com... many interesting articles and a lively helpful forum. then he sold that and it went to shit. i went from a newbie on there to one of the most helpful and knowledgable posters, to just another coder that abondoned it.
for the same reason you can't copy protect music, you can't control gun ownership.
everyone knows how to make guns... the patents are readily available. i could sit at home and make a gun. i would never shoot anyone else. the same could be said for music recording... no matter what you do, someone can ALWAYS record and distribute it illegaly. the criminal is the person that uses this common knowledge to break the law (killing someone or sharing the latest brittney spears album)
fun gun control activists on both sides... fuck the RIAA and britney spears, if you if you want to be down with britney, fuck you too. mpaa fuck you too. all y'all mother fuckers, fuck you, die slow mother fucker, my.44 makes sure all you kids don't grow. and that is why we have gun control.
it has pre and post conditions BUILT IN to the system. so it isn't like a comment or an if statement in the function, you say, this function only accepts x if it is between y or z... or any number of boolean statements... if it fails, the system fails. it makes your code very solid.
i would have read the article to post intelligently, but i couldn't even get through the description posted on the home page... about 10 errors in the first sentance alone!!
do the editors not have edit ability to edit or do they choose to leave the mistakes so as not to misquote the poster?!
lets see... microsoft is seeing customers go to free software, and then tries to match the price as best as possible. they figure their shit is better, but the customer wants a lower price. if a customer buys OS X, it is because they want OS X and not Windows because they are similarly priced. Microsoft sales reps cant do anything here, the DEVELOPERS have to make windows beter than OS X to win these customers back.
i mean, the reason they caught you is you installed a system mod.... you should be able to install ANOTHER system mod to stop them from catching you. seems obvious.
lets see if the moderators can keep up with my new method of first posting... spacing out words seems like the de facto standard of all the spam that gets through my filters....
his suggestion to the music industry is to make cds a couple dollars... i think the idea of 15 bundled songs is the problem. make a SONG $1... and then tell your artists to make good songs.
riaamusic.com... sign up today and get 50 free credits when you buy 50... then log in and download any song you want for 1 credit... WHY IS THIS SO HARD FOR THEM TO GRASP?! i haven't bought a CD in yyyyyeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrsssss after all mine were stolen some time ago. i don't want to rely on the physical disc anymore, so i don't buy them. BUT if you let me download for a dollar, i WOULD. god damn this pisses me off... almost as much as copy prevention... if i can HEAR it, i can RECORD it.

so moores law applies to moores law? every 5 years the law itself is challenged... ironic.

this is not an ogg specific killer app... substitue ogg_to_bitrate(); with mp3_to_bitrate(); and your killer app will work for the 'competition'
i can't wait til this comment gets modded down.
i'll just sit back and wait for the porn industry to exploit this new discovery... then i'll understand it better.

not in a tunnel or under a tree or in a hideout...
yeah, like a spy is going to compromise his position to get line of sight to a satellite.
i'll wait for linux 3.1... i hear there will be windowing build in then, with a way to exit to shell if you still need to use the command line
NOOOOO!!! they have already hacked the .gov domain and set up email accounts. i've heard of these guys and they have tons of box cutters too

you've obviously never been slashdotted... the person that pays the bandwidth bills is the one that notices when people congregate online.

wait... i thought /. only ripped off articles from The Register??!
now i'll have to post every story from *2* different sites all day... blargh.
this is an example of energy decay i think....
5 funny, 5 funny, 3 funny.
if this law is logrithmic, i predict a 2.5 funny for me.
"informative" nice...
i can imagine that moderator implementing this on his blog as we speak.
