    i still think my pathetic attempt at AI when i was 15 is till the best ever made.

    ARTI-Mac is an artificial mack daddy. he runs big johnny's pub in my video game virtual pimp (written in QuickBasic 4.5)

    you go in the bar and "talk to the man behind the counter" then it opens up an Dr. Sbatso type session where you talk about guns, drugs and rap music. it was the inspiration for my online game which is still down due to TYAN!! if you don't believe me about the TYAN boards, just read this thread, they are blowing up left and right.

    lets hope GRACE was made with and ASUS!

    yes, tyan boards are generally VERY good... especially the intel boards.

    the tyan thunder K7 problem is VERY WELL DOCUMENTED

    i used ALL AMD+Tyan recommended hardware. (ram, cpu, heatsinks, fans) i wore a grounding strap and never installed ANY cards in. it was in a rackmounted airconditioned unit and was well grounded.

    CASE IN POINT: fuck tyan.

    i registered... but the san jose meet up is at the chili's right by my house.

    CHILI'S??? we couldn't go to a decent bar or something? or even just a data warehouse and eat hot pockets sitting on the floor.

    i don't understand how CHILI'S is going to spur any kind of socialization whatsoever. plus, i'm a baller extraordinaire and hanging out with you losers would hurt my rep! ;)

    The problem is that these things take no account for actual traffic conditions.
    that isn't how it will be used... it would be more like this:

    lawyer: "well sir, at the time you rear-ended my client, your foot was all the way down on the accellerator, the steering wheel was straight ahead, your music volumn was on 27 (a sample to the jury shows how loud it is)... how can you explain this?"

    you: "traffic conditions"

    i don't think so.

    i used to go to phpbuilder.com many times a day and answer all the questions in forums...

    after they sold the site, i don't visit as much, but it is still the best place for a newbie PHP developer to go and get some good help.

    i also have a similar cap and run my website (down for a week weeks while i try and get tyan off their asses) off the line. this means i average a loaded 128kbits going out, but i can easily download at blazing fast speeds. i think your problem lies in hardware as well.

    maybe your provider directly hacked the modem they gave you, or your ethernet card or router isn't good at handling up and down traffic at once.

    i wouldn't be surprised if these systems could be modded somehow or use additional anti-aliasing devices for the show to go to up to 2000px+ resolutions. roughly 3 or 4 megapixel, i think that could scale pretty well for a flat imax screen.... they really didn't describe the setup much, but i think its safe to say it will be playable.

    i have an 800x600 (might even be 640x480 i forget) projector at home and it scalls to 20' diagonal very playably...

    personally, i would rather play a god type game with that perspective... GTA, Warcraft 3, etc.

    i am actually very impressed... the 'force fed' idea of music distribution is what the RIAA likes and will support. i however don't believe that they intended the law just for 'pick your own' online radio stations, rather online radio stations with no transmitter counterpart.
