are you really this blind? if he was an AOL developer or even a QA guy, he NEEDS access to the databases.
92,000,000 screen names lets say 16 characters each = about 1.4 GB uncompressed. halve that or more with simple zip and it's fitting on a CD, or upped to your home FTP in 30 minutes.
this type of internal leak happens all the time. wake up.
gmail is a good step for google because the communication is stored server side so they can apply their search technology to it.
a google IM application could not stand out unless it offered googles search features on all of your IM conversations. google is not going to release a tool that searches your local drive which means the data (the text of all of your IM conversations) would have to be stored server side.
i for one would not want my IM conversations stored on googles servers. of course some people might like the services... but for IM, unless all of your friends switch, you'll just need another IM application or trillion will have to code another network in with all of googles new features (that probably wouldn't work through trillion).
that is because in russia, an idividual is worthless. if a problem happens in space that the ship is designed to handle itself, then you have 2 options
1. have extremely well trained men aboard to fix the problems.
2. consider the mission a failure and write everything aboard off
america will not write off a dead human. ever. even if the human chooses to write themselves off. i don't agree with that last point, but it's america... and our dicks^H^H^H^H^Hnuclear weapons are bigger than yours, so deal with it.
But, as an XBox owner, every time I think "You know, I'd like to play a strategy game.. or maybe an RPG..." all I can do is lament the fact that all the good titles are on the other wall.
gameboy advance SP. it is the greatest system ever.
1. easy to carry. 2. long rechargeable internal battery life 3. bright screen 4. good contrast/resolution 5. flip screen protects itself 6. hackable 7. huge library of all GB, GBC and GBA titles. also NES and others via emulator.
i love my SP and will never buy another handheld system ever (unless of course another SP to replace this one if king koopa eats it).
television with caller id would be very useful... i'm already watching tv and my phone rings... i would love to see the number on the screen. it might take away some thinkgeek sales though.
wait a minute... an emulator programmer knows a girl named melissa?!
i thought we weren't allowed to fraternize with ladies?
it's almost like i've seen something like this before...
open("haxx0r script");
str_replace("/bin", "/zurg");
str_replace("/sbin", "/mumph");
str_replace("/usr", "/splunge");
save;
compile;
$ip = get_ip("GMFTatsujin");
virus_send(this, $ip);
I own an NES rom copier, a 512MB GBA rom card, a GBA rom copier and have access to NES emulators that run on the GBA.
I simply dumped all my NES roms to my PC, and packaged them all with the emulator into a single GBA rom.
Did I break any patent, copyright or IP laws? I don't think so.
how many dollars would you actually spend on these NES re-releases for GBA?
precisely zero. (i owned the tools already and consider them a capital expense)
what about my cell phone then?! i get "caller id blocked" all the time. last i checked, the minutes were on my dime.
i just finished writing my spectator bot...
I'm not really annonymous (the source code at least has my first and last name in it.)
I just want the attention to go to the game and the nostalgia, not to me. The last thing I want is to take credit away from the original author.
Thanks for the comments and for trying it out. I hope it works for you and brings back some old times.
-jeff!
where are the links?
do you really think that someone that spends $2000 on video cards would be caught dead using a sound blaster sound card?!
external firewire sound cards only please. 24/96.
he meant that the online retain outlet was on the receiving end. idiot.
SLASHDOT: NONE OF YOU HAVE ANY FUCKING COMMON SENSE.
why does it have to be on AOL's side?
why couldn't it be the user had a keylogger installed that looked for typed emails?
why couldn't it be at the any number of routers and computers along the while while you're sending email to other users in plain text?
i really doubt AOL's/MSN's "new user signon system" has a backdoor installed that only updates on NEW users and don't send out the complete list.
you are dumb.

for one, korea has nukes.
for two, we are far too lazy as a people to actually build these, so they'll probably be outsourced for production.
i am the best.
you don't get it.

anyways, i doubt GMessenger is anywhere near.
The cooling system in the new G5s is pretty well thought out
if it was so well thought out, why should i worry about cramming things anywhere?
do you even know how the cooling works? if the heat increases, the fans spin faster...
as long as the drives aren't blocking in the intake or output air holes, they won't be a problem to the G5 cooling system specifically.
they will however produce a lot of heat that ANY cooling system would be strained to cool properly.

note: modded xbox also runs snes + every game ever made for it.
i reiterate: xbox + all emulators = greatest console ever.
But, as an XBox owner, every time I think "You know, I'd like to play a strategy game.. or maybe an RPG..." all I can do is lament the fact that all the good titles are on the other wall.
3 words. PRINCE. OF. PERSIA.
obviously there is a bucket inside the bucket with a large hole over the small hole and a small hole over the large hole of the outer bucket.
partical physisists need to think outside the bucket.
i'll be playing NES games on my modded xbox for the rest of my life.

you want RAID 1.
raid 0 = not fault tollerant.
raid 5 = difficult to rebuild after fault.
RAID 1 is simply copying everything to every disk. after a failure put a new disk in and the controller should copy everything to the new drive.
