Yes, the whole "I'd kill them and dump the body for stealing from me" thing is kind of ridiculous
One of the most idiotic things that I hear people say all the time is "what they would do" if somthing had happened to them. 99.9% of the time they really would NOT do that, and would probably urinate or defecate themselves instead. It is also dismissive of what really happened, what we are allowed to do, and what we would allow ourselves to do. This is why we applaud people with the guts to really DO something and not just say it, or some imagined hyperbolic version of "what they would do if..."
Not only did she do something extremely brave, but she did it the right way. Good going !
(it's laughable; my Uncle has Yahoo DSL, and we're "out of range". He lives DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET)
I live smackdab in the middle of the island of Manhattan, in New York City, and I can't get dsl because the circuit is full or some such bullshit. Basically I think they don't want to add dsl infrastructure because they are busy building the fiber network. I have Time Warner and would drop it in a second. I was just wishing I could drop it as I read this article.
At our enterprise, we have several thousand people using lotus notes. We are locked into Blackberry big time. Our experimental imap server went away 2 years ago. Noone is interested in maintaining another device / email system for an enterprise with enough complications. Already there is one guy who does almost nothing but blackberry stuff full time. They got to the enterprise first, and we are stuck with them.
I'm sorry , did you miss your medication this month? I would say that is flamebait, but it doesn't even make sense to the point of Pure Hilarity ! MOD PARENT UP +5
My work email has yet to receive a single spam. Oh, that's because I don't use it for anything but work and it's not on any webpage.
I was spam free for quite a while, but in the last few years, the enterprise wide address book has clearly been harvested (some 10000+ addresses) by a bad apple somewhere. I imagine someone installed a "free screensaver" or something else with a backdoor, or took a company laptop to a unprotected network and gotten scanned and rooted, etc etc....
You *can* fly with current cars! Just not very far. And the landing might be a bit rough.
Yeeeeeeeeee Haw !!!!! (sound of Banjo's playing)... cue Waylon Voiceover: There go them Duke Boys again, they just can't seem to stay on the right side of the law.
Speed Racer also did quite a bit of impossible car flying.
Verizon : upload 85kb/sec / regular ass little phone cord... Cable guy: upload 45kb/sec / stapled big thick black coax cable to brand new painted white wood, effectively ruining it, and cabled right across my removable radiator cover, rendering it unremovable. At least this time he didn't pull out one of those 2 foot long drills and drill a hole straight through the wall like they usually do. But Verizon actually gave up on their install at my new place.... so. Don't get me wrong they are all evil megacorporations........
yes, I have TWC in NYC and it SUX. My verizon dsl was so much better, but they won't wire my new apt. something about the neighbor's backyard and pitbulls were a few of the obstacles they mentioned.
Great, I was waiting for just such an invitation..
I think it could have something to do with that "wiggler" device, the one that is like a little miniature joystick (slash nipple) in the middle of the keyboard. Except that instead of the soft familiar nipple feeling, it feels like rough sandpaper. Pure fucking genius for usability, but the tactile equivalent of hearing someone scratch a blackboard. It has just always bothered me, and now I don't find it hard to believe that it is somehow the cause of all of this "BSOD" insanity. Also, I heard that once the CEO of Toshiba farted on Steve's favorite leather sofa, and this may be some sort of personal vendetta playing itself out on the world's stage.
what happened to stringing a quarter ? that worked on all the early games. we used to string defender at the 7-11 while one of us distracted the cashier....
I suppose you could watermark each copy that is distributed. It would be a hassle to do and still probably not really mean all that much.
I am surprised they haven't done this already... It doesn't seem like that much of a hassle to me at all, it seems like the thing that technology makes very easy....
Can you read? I am not talking about equipment. I never was. I am talking about a signal coming down a wire. Compressed by the cable companies. All I said is that cable signal is compressed. get a life. I have every right to comment about everything. In case you forgot.
Point taken, but I never said I thought anything looked better. I just pointed out that a "clean" broadcast source may not be as clean as you think. That did not come from my ass.
You can record music from the radio also, played from the remastered super CD (whatever they call that nowadays) but if the station compresses and limits the hell out of it (they all do), you are still a far way from the original recording.
That was my only point. I don't know why you are all so mad. Perhaps trying to justify that expensive equipment purchase.
And for the so-called experts quip, I'll take that as a personal attack on my daddy who can whip yours with one hand tied behind his back.......;)
How can you be "pretty sure"? Is this all theory to you? Don't you spend each night watching HDTV so that you can, with authority, state that you would rather watch overcompressed HDTV than DVD?
No, I don't have a TV, dickhead. I do, however, have to sit and listen to my dad talk ad infinitum about technical aspects of broadcasting audio and video, since he was chief engineer at a television station for 25 years, during the genesis of all this "new tech". He personally ushered much of this stuff in the door over the last decade.. One of his favorite topics was the fucked up things that cable rebroadcasters do make sure everything fits in their band. I said pretty sure, because there may, out there in the world, be a cable rebroadcaster that does not overcompress the video before sending it back out on the wire. I do doubt it though.
WRONG. Apple is a secret society and what they are selling is actualy MIND CONTROL
disguised as cute little music players and phones.
if it had been gladiator in space, maybe.......
GPS is a Gimmick ?!?
HOORAY, I LOVE GIMMICKS !
seriously, isn't that what this is all about anyway? most gimmicks wins ?

There can't be an edit button because the trolls would game it.
Use preview.

Good luck making parole, Sean !!!!

Talk is cheap, many people love to chime in they will buy one, but I bet they won't.
I'll buy one !

I am not making a qualitative or quantitative analysis of who has more bugs,
just pointing out that the delay will not produce a "bug-free" release.

Better late than buggy.
Unlike Vista which was late AND buggy.
Tiger is at 10.4.9 because of bug fixes, not features......
So apple is guilty too.

So what you are saying is that we need to build a new super shotgun that shoots wet wads of toilet paper ? ;)
