damn them both, the profiteers! I spend thousands of dollars on vinyl records each year, and have been forced to house the better part of my collection (about 100 crates last time I moved them) in a self storage unit (small manhattan apartment). I think they are actually in cahoots !!!!
CD's were overpriced from the get-go! The fact of the matter is they were all getting over like fat cats, lower manufacturing costs, higher retail, win win for the companies. Too bad the party is over now, bitches !!!!!
Lol. Truly. I got interested and did some reading on this, according to the "chart" michael jordan and cal ripkin were both "overweight" at the peak of their athletic prowess.
A common test back in the day would be to play a master mix through the shittiest AM radio type gear, or a 6x9 speaker and see how it sounded, since 90% of everyone would be hearing it on similar gear.
That thing is a load of crap ! 6'7" 222 is rail thin for that height ! I would call that a little underweight. The calculator says I am overweight at 6'9" 248#. I have been at 235 and people would tell me I am looking too thin then. If my body mass were right according to that thing, I would be sickly thin....
Theres also a bunch of audio books on archive.org, some are read by my dad, Roy Trumbull......(had to plug !!!) He has made a hobby recording public domain works and posting them on the internet. oz on archive.org audio
It's time I venture forth into the world and leave them behind!
As someone that married a Hoosier (they are all so damned proud) and was forced to visit "Indy", I'd stick with the friends you have. Unless you love the midwest or are stuck there, there is nothing to love about that city, except some of the people in it.
yes, wtf? the world has lowered its standards. no longer is high fidelity king!! People just want tons of free SHIT, encoded shittily (youtube, google video, mp3's etc...)
You go and price out a Mac that can do browsing, email and a bit of word processing, and I'll do the same with a PC.
I just LOVE that argument. You can do all three of those things on a used piece of crap. I saw an iMac G3 on ebay sell for $20.00 last week. That should get the job done....
As far as real requirements, the mac can now do anything the PC can do. Why? Just boot it in XP or run a VM.
you forgot the malicious hackers, they are also a part of the problem. Oh yeah, a police and legal system that TOTALLY doesn't know how to deal with them is another part of the problem. Just adding on.
What you don't factor in is that those 2% are not just computer owners, but rabid evangalists of the Mac Platform. They all have ipods and couldn't wait for the iphone to come out. They'd rather scratch their eyes out than use a wintel computer. Apple should just kiss them all goodbye and make ipods and phones. That makes a whole lot of sense. Lets alienate our core consumers that are willing to pay ABOVE MARKET prices for our hardware! D
off topic but i agree. I get sick of the idiotic comments there and the low quality of the copy on submissions. It is like being inside a teenaged male's brain, not a good place to be.
ow you choose to read "BeOS" is a major syllable count factor. (oddly enough while I say "gee-oss" and "bee-oss", I say "oh ess eks".)
I always thought "Be-OS" sounded more gangsta, kinda like bee-yotch or bee-atch or however you spell something that is a slang word. didn't stop everyone in IT from trying to make fun of me for installing it. I had a friend that developed on the platform, doing some kiosk type work, which it was well suited for. I had it running the cool particle graphics program, attraction, which also attracted people.
You know little to nothing about autistic people. While I understand the humor or your post, it shows little of the social conciousness that you speak of. These are people that are socially and emotionally disconnected, I don't mean disconnected like we can be, I mean literally the plug is gone from the socket never to return. Everything you know about teaching "normal" people does not apply here. The "emotional social conciousness" stuff just does not apply at all to autistic people, who have little to no hope of learning those kinds of things. What they could learn, though, are some valuable skills to help them better get throuh the day.

i bought a virtual dildo but it turned out to be counterfeit....
Please move along.......

and now, Oracle Unbreakable Linux, which is essentially Red Hat re-badged.
which isnt anything more than an electric can opener with an electronical brain hitched to the back of it.
