wow. I saw the demos.. thats some annoying crap. I swear awhile ago I was on the TechTV site and they had something like this except it was a football player running across my screen. I forget what the add was about but I was so pissed off to see that this is what they will do to make us watch adds.
ok so they are making a better installer for debian but why dont they make it easier to actoually install programs in linux. thats what I hate. I know you can just double click on a RPM on some distros and install it but they should have some type of install shield for linux that makesit easier than ever to install software. thats the number 1 reason why I dont use linux that much. I would rater stick with double clicking icons than compiling my programs that I can not get to work 90% of the time.. maby it is just me but my life is aready to busy.
dont worry I estimate within ohh 5 minutes thousands of people have already found a way around this.. if there is a way to protect it there must be a way to reverse engineer it.
hey remember when the OLED Display technology just came out and everyone was wanting to buy like 6 foor screens for dirt cheap. will that still happen when they come out sometime next year. will they still be dirt cheap?
Would it be possible to hook up a Laptop LCD screen to a regular video card. I know you probably need some controller card or one of those 200 dollar ISA video cards that support it. anyways is there a easy and cheap way to do that. I have a few laptop lcd screens around here and I would like to get some use out of them. especially i I can use them with my GEFORCE 2.
Computers used to be my life after I took a job at a local computer sotre. for the past year I have seen all and fixed all posible compter problems and even seen some very wierd things too. now when I come home I use my computer for 30 minutes a day and maby a few hours on a weekend if I am really bored.
in toms hardware they dident have any saftey systems on the MB turned on that shuts down the pc if the cpu gets too hot so the cpu went up in smoke.. the AMD one had it set up correctly where the cpu gets too hot the system turns off. I have 3 AMD athalon systems all of them are diffrent bords and have the saftey feature.
when I got my duron 700 a while back the idiot from the computer store forgot to take off the plastic piece covering the heat compound on the heat sinc. well when I had it off I decided to turn it on with my finger on top of the center of the chip. well was that a misteak! within 2 seconds I had the Duron Logo burned into my finger for about a week. it was pretty cool to be branded like that but it hurt! I dont believe this. I would believe Toms Hardware before this. and what the hell was that blinking light thing? I dident read anything I just watched the video.
I have a bookPC sitting here that is about that size. the mobo is the size of the one they have in that box. wats the big deal. the one I have here is like 4 years old already. it is only a celeron 533.
I was actoually about to buy one of these things off ebay after I found that it was impossible to find the instructions off the internet somewhere. Good job people!
no, I dont need RJ45 jacks every 10 feet, like maby 1 or 2 for each room, I was hoping to get some lanparty action going without having cables everywhere but thats ok. I dident know there was such a issue with running RJ45 near electrical cabling but I will keep your suggestions in mind when I do this.
I have just started construction on a huge addition onto my 100 year old house and I am planning to have a whole bunch of RJ-45 outlets every 10 feet in the walls in the new part of my house and they are all gonne run upstairs to my 24port switch that I will probably have mounted in the wall or something.. (because it is a rackmount) anyways anyone know where the HELL I can get RJ45 wallplates from?
I find this very interesting that a computer can run unmanaged for this amount of time, so I guess there was no power outtages that made it reboot unless it has some type of UPS, I would like to know what type of system this was and maby a few pics of it and where it has been living for the past few years!
