Make the game a reflection of your *real* life.. where it's bank account is your *real* bank account... and when it's paying bills it's REALLY paying bills...;) and you can compete with other people as to who has the most efficiently managed life for incentive.
Who knows.. if people showed the same dedication to RL as they did their avatars, our world might actually improve a little!
"Soul" is usually gained at the expense of speed and/or expense.. which is directly detrimental to the business grail of "profit"..
You can make successful games with "soul" and they make tremendous amounts of money as a reward.. HOWEVER, if you try to make a game with said "soul" and if fails.. it could mean death to your company.
I miss them horribly! Ever since they moved to Redmond they are just a Halo factory. They made their name with wonderful games like Marathon and Myth, but now I feel they are a shadow of their former selves as far as creative flexibility is concerned. The people who ran Bungie made some nice money, but I feel that the quality of their games has diminished somewhat.
Most likely to give the reader a perspective of the feelings generated when a cartoon is created of their own revered religious figures, hopefully creating a more objective view of the situation..
Kind of reminds me when Bungie was bought by Microsoft and only a few days before both parties categorically denied that any sort of discussion was taking place.
It's comes up from time to time, "Apple is going to buy Palm!" "Apple is creating a version of their OS to work with Intel chips!".. . . err.... uh.... hmmm.
Just to give you people a heads up... you just KNOW you're going to need exalted with Argent Dawn for some of the quest goodies! So best to start now if you've been lazy with AD faction.. ALSO, be sure to gear up on frost and shadow resist!
You are missing the point. The point IS that your privacy being overtly invaded could be used as a tool against you. I'm not saying that it is being done or has been done (though it wouldn't suprise me in the least if it had) I'm saying that it COULD easily be done and IMHO is not beyond this administration.
I would think twice before you quote that (falsified) article attributing that quote (just a goddamned piece of paper) to Pres. Bush. Just saying.
and I would think twice about flatly saying that it's falsified... There is in fact an article out there which alleges that Bush said that very phrase. Whether it's ultimately true or not only those who were in the room with Bush and Bush himself know.
What I do know.. is that according to my own personal assesment of Bush's personality.. It would come as no great shock to me at all if it proved true.
The sad part is that it seems WELL within the realm of possibility that it could be true.
If you're not about to blow up a federal building (or blow up your garage with a badly-planned meth lab), then the Justice Department really doesn't give a shit about what you are doing at home, or what genre of dirty pictures you are doing it with. Get over yourself.
That is unless you need to be discredited to the public in some way. Then those very interesting things that you do at home that have been monitored suddenly become very interesting and very public.
I'm not arguing the morality of it nor was I trying to garner sympathy from your generous well of humanity. I was merely offering a possible explanation for the parent poster's observaton.
Morality and successful businesses rare share the same path. Don't get me wrong, I'm not being anti-business here. It's just that businesses willing to part with "morality" in the quest for wealth will in fact be stronger businesses (wealth wise) and since we often equate wealth with success, morality would therefore get in the way of "success".
In a more theological perspective it would be selling ones soul for money. (ie doing something you wouldn't normally do or want to do for something else that you want)
Google is coming to face the same choices as many corporations of the past. Hold onto your morality and be less competative in the marketplace.. or join the "survival of the fittest" mentality and keep your competative edge.
They seemed to have this aura of sadness behind their fake smiles.
Does this come as a suprise to you? They know that they are being slapped in bikinis to sexually attract men of whom 90% of the time they would actively try to sexually shun. I guess in a certain sense they might feel like "soft core" prostitutes... so yeah I can totally understand the "sadness" behind a fake smile. Most probably don't know what they're selling, they just know they've been paid and they have to do it.
Actually I think you'll find the same kind of levels on phones or any other device that comes in contact with people for prolongs periods and isn't "cleanable" in a real sense.
Keyboards may be kind of an exception because they are just natural collectors of all things nasty with large crevices that are damn near impossible to clean. Unlike the toilet set which is a flat surface made of porcelain and is generally cleaned with chemicals.
Those poor innocent spammers trying to make a living sitting there in a makeshift shack shivering in front of an empty table with nothing but a meek candle for warmth..
We can only move in the right direction.. This is a positive step to be sure, and as flaws in this system reveal themselves we will take further steps toward refining the process of preserving intergrity in the voting system.
The perfect democracy is a goal and can never really be perfectly attained... but it serves as a compass to keep us going in the right direction.
This of course assumes that DaVinci captured her exact expression... Chances are that the painting just developed that way. Anyone who does art by hand knows that it's not a photograph and that the painting more or less takes on it's own personality as it's being created.
If it were a photo then yes I'd be more apt to accept an algorythmic interpretation of the image.. but paintings take time and it's doubtful that a person feels the exact same way over the course of days or weeks or even months it took for this painting to be completed.
There has been a recent development in fuel technology which is to inject hydrogen into the fuel air mix which has been shown to greatly improve fuel efficiency and is relatively simple to implement by using the cars electricity to create the hydrogen while driving.
One of the side effects of this is that the exhaust is cool... which would make this steam engine reclamation engine kind of moot at best.
Having an engine to recapture lost heat energy that can be eliminated by a much simpler approach to engine efficiency of the main engine seems like a bad move on BMW's part.
In this day and age...
God Bless America! in 2006 == God Save the Queen! 1776
Why don't you wait until details unfold before making that kind of statement!

At the current rate, copper sells at around $2.14/pound.
One penny weighs in at around 0.0034 lbs. putting the copper value of 100 pennies at roughly 73
Copper would break even with currecy value at around $2.94/pound
Why make a game that simulates real life?? What's the point?
Even in games like the Sims the appeal is doing something that you wouldn't normally do.
Where is the enjoyment in doing what you would very well be doing while not in front of the computer?

"Yes, you're right. What sane person would need such a law?
But on the other hand, I can see how politicians and people in power might need such a law."
There you have it, a direct connection between politicians and insanity!
