If not simply from the standpoint of the wireless industry being in "explode mode". Everything under the sun will most likely have some sort of wireless network capability in the next decade. I'm still waiting for kids with Gameboy type devices walking around playing head to head with kids from Tokyo in real time.
The question is not one of "if", but a question of "when".
However this begs the question on how to define the function of the computer.
Ultimately the function of the internals is computational power and the throughput of data through the system. This of course should be the primary concern in the design or form of the components.
However, I must also say that there are more elemental functions that must also be taken into account. The swiveling LCD for example greatly succeeds in its implimentation of a zero footprint monitor that can be placed in almost any position you like, however, it fails it the need for easy replacement and maintenance. So basically what I'm saying is that there are many functions of the computer as a whole that need to be addressed and far too many people only address the functions they are accustomed to using.
You can't deny that there is a place for form in the market as well. I'll grant you that function is tops, but you can't just throw out form as many would have you believe. Form (aesthetics) is equally as valuable as function and the state of mind of the person using the product has actual effect on the end result.
Make the user happy and make the machine functional and you'll never go wrong.
You go find yourself a nice quiet dimension and the next thing you know you have people prodding and poking around in it with their little scientific instruments... then comes the invetable "How do we get there?" portion..and after all that you wake up one morning to find your favorite grove of floating trees being torn down so they can put up a White Hen... oh the humanity!
Rio products are fine (I've owned 2), but the difference besides the obvious advantages of firewire and small form factor is that the iPod is actually well constructed. Rio has a long history of cheaply made devices and it shows..no matter how flashy they are.
The Rio lines have always worked for me just fine, but the craftsmanship of the products themselves lends me to believe that it will be broken inside of a year of normal use.
Developers should issue release dates at various points in the project. An initial release estimation which is basically worthless but gives you an idea of what the company has in mind for release. A point at which the project has reached beta stage and how long they will expect it to be in beta. This can be taken with a grain or two of salt, but should give a more accurate estimation on the true release date.
I'm sure there can be other points along the line, but you get the idea. Granted this is kind of how things are done now, but not standardized at all.
I'm sure there will be a "National" section of the card/liscense with peritnent information for that level of government.
I'm sure it'll make for a nice transitional step to a full blown national ID card once people get used to having generalized national info on state ID cards.

I had heard over the weekend that the reason that Photoshop is delayed so badly is that they are rewriting it as a 64-bit application to take advantage of the G5 processor which appears to be slated for release around the same time.
Just as Star Wars in 1977 set the trend for Sci-Fi movies LOTR seems to be setting a trend not only in fantasy movies, but how movie trilogies should be handled in general.
I commend everyone in the production of a movie masterpiece that has at the very least lived up to the expectations of most on a time honored classic!

Was that the 1984 spin-off off the six million dollar man series!?
Absolutely.

Suprsingly the Apple 22" Cinema Display is a great deal price wise.
At $2499 for a very high quality monitor it's actually quite competitive in the LCD market.

One OS to rule them all, one OS to find them, one OS to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them.

Wow... sorry to be the cause of such a stirring controversy...
Apparently we know how all these lawsuits come about now.

Looks like MWNY will be for power users!
I'm in total agreement... however I would ammend that statement to:
"Let the market decide based on the merits of the format."
Hmmm... I guess the title says it all..

I was watching a movie on TBS a few nights ago... They showed a persons heart being ripped out while at the same time bleeping the word "bastard"...
It just seems that people are so worried about being correct these days, that they've forgotten what correct is.
It's refreshing to see a limit placed on the kind of standards for "clean society" that can be imposed on the public.
"the gov't want to extend its protective eye" Just like the protective eye of Sauron!

Actually yes... If you own a flea market and someone is selling drugs there then you are indeed liable under the law as a property owner.
It's probably called Final Fantasy because it never ends... well... until the money runs out anyway.
They already applied their uber-patch to the DOJ and it *worked*!
