Red Hat didn't jump on the United Linux bandwagon when it was formed in 2002. I'm not really sure their position in the Enterprise has changed all that much that they would jump on the Ubuntu United Linux in 2008.
You do what you want... but don't try to tell me that I'm not using Adblock "responsibly" The advertisers had their chance with me. What I got was pop-overs, pop-unders, drive by installs and more impressions of X10 cameras than I will ever care about. I got ads that blocked the content, that played loud sounds, that floated all over the page. Adblock is a response to irresponsible behavior by the advertisers. I use it and I use it on full. There was content before the ads and there will be content after the ads. There won't be subscriptions, because that is the kiss of death for a content provider on the internet. But by all means go ahead and whitelist if you wish. As for me I'm done with the constant barrage of ads. 90% of them are from spammy, sketchy vendors that I would never buy from anyway.
Sites that want to make ad revenue work need to rethink their usage and their suppliers. Ads can be successful and desirable. If you doubt that take a look at the average Sunday paper. I purchase that each Sunday and pay more for it BECAUSE of the ads. Talk about a successful model. Content providers are going to need to provide something more than your second hand guilt argument to get me to turn off Adblock and they have no one to blame but themselves.
I understand your need to make the car analogy, but you swerve away at the last minute and attempt to draw our attention to the transmission of the car. The problem with you analogy is that most car batteries are relatively easy for the end user to change.
This isn't really accurate. Fedora releases are on a N 2 + 1. Meaning the last 2 release and the prior 1 month past the latest release. In this case Fedora 6 just now reached EOL and Fedora 7 will be supported until May of 2008. Ubuntu's non LTS releases are supported for 18 months... Fedora 6 was supported for 15 months, not such a big difference in support length.
I agree that for servers this upgrade cycle is too much and wouldn't use Ubuntu or Fedora on a server, so I thank Centos for helping me to avoid the cycle on servers.
I for one will not support Bin Laden Intel even if the administration chooses to ignore them and their processors for evil. The incidious plot must be stopped. Buy AMD and help fight terrorism.
In this day and age of cell phones you expect us to believe that poor sound quality "embarrassed you with customers" I call B.S. or over sensitivity, all the same I guess
Okay now let me get this straight. Sony was the company that was smart and built a console that had all the economies of scale working for it. The design allowed for combining components as technology improved giving it the ability to cut manufacturing costs. Sony could add functionality via add-ons such as ones for networking and hard drive. Microsoft packed all that functionality into a box giving it better specs than the competition, but less chance of making up major ground for manufacturing cost and hence dooming them to little chance of profitability due to the decreases in sales price to stay even with the competition.
And now they've switched????
This is all just so confusing
I'm a bit skeptical about the motives here when the comapany is in the business of selling Remote Control software. But, I have to agree with the other posters that talked about tunneling over ssh and only allowing connections from the localhost. I'm not sure why anyone would run VNC live on an untrusted network anyway.
I'd have to agree. I think I'm just going to give up on articles from LX'er. They seem to all be poorly written and researched, but very well Digged and Slashed.
Be sure to file an Environmental Impact Survey before you head out to the harbor, or you'll really be in for trouble.
You are not alone in that. I guess we are driving traffic to World Forum of Civil Society Networks

You mean the Ogallala Aquifer that is shrinking at such a rate that some believe it may be tapped out in 25 years? http://www.nwanews.com/adg/Business/167660/

You knew they wouldn't be starting a business ethics curriculum!

You are so far off that you will need a map just to find a clue. http://www.americantv.com/itemList.do?pg=1&catCd=6 001&vend=APPL
I'd site hundreds of others, but it gets redundant after awhile.
I still think your Phantom Game Console will ever be released
That was a good one, but I give them points for the truth in advertising, because I didn't have to click at all to navigate it.

Sorry I don't care how many reviewers these 29 page articles are ridiculous. I am so tired of these damn Burma Shave articles
Of course they'd lose information. Haven't you seen how bad Arial screws up ASCII porn... Uh Nevermind
Uh this guy also wrote a blog entry about how much he loves clippy.... talk about paid shill

DHL is famous for difficulties, but I'd hardly blame that on Vonage.

Why yes, it is too much to ask. And while you are at it mod the "article" as poorly thought out blog with no relavent points. Just like your comment.
Exactly. The DRM is so obnoxious in these formts that for myself the winner is..... DVD
