Doesn't comcast (and other cable/isp) have essentially a monopoly? Didn't they receive government allocation to build this 'backbone' and not interfere with it?
Price trumps style? How else do you get identified in a crowded marketplace. It's not just external style, but for the last five years the internal design style is something I hear nobody talk about.
Make 'em cool and cheap. If there's no style, how can you make them cool? Cheap? How do you stay in business and be cheap? I'm not saying I want them expensive, but if they're viewed as expensive, it's because of poor marketing. USB, Firewire, etc. are all included.
Ditch the all-in-one. Simplicity is what new users need...people who need space saved. What is a laptop, except an all in one computer?
Sell the soap? Give away a discount on the most popular MP3 player? If you're on top, why would you do such a thing?
Soap II. This is the best idea I've heard of. Except of course the people who do return it...leaves you with stock that is difficult to resell. But I do like the idea. People will get upset though, at a restocking fee.
Security.
This is something apple's marketing misses Really.
So, that makes him 1 of 6 in my book.
This is particularly important as they aren't using film.
WIth HD Lucas is shooting actors on Video...and now doing previsualization with the CG elements on set.
Did Liam look in the general direction of, but not AT the eyes of the CG character? Reshoot. etc. etc. etc.
Additionally a rough edit can be done off the video tap on set with the rough CG edit.
Unfortuantetly this still means nothing without good acting, a good script, or alternate footage to make decisions from.
You make a film three times.
Once on the page, once while directing, and once in the edit. But if everthing is so storyboarded and timed down the moment that you can't have options, you can't discover anything in the edit at all.
Oh well, at least you can see what the giant CG creature looks like
What if I want to know that I'm living right near a cellphone tower? Now they're hiding them? What if I choose my housing based on a place that's not right near a broadcast space?
It's the marketing hype that is going to be surrounding the film.

Ok. Here's finally my chance to put a relevant post on slashdot.
And I'm apologizing for the direct piece of recommendation. It'd be spam if it wasn't on topic. I'm not a physician.
But most GP's will tell you to start exercising (good) and strenghten you abs (bad...it's the muscles on the other side that are weak!).
Most orthopaedics will give you drugs....or cut you...because that's what they do generally.
I started up and ran a PT facility specializing in spinal rehabilitation in the early 90s.
80-90% of lower back problems are due to soft tissue problems, ie., weakness in the lower back muscles.
They're weak because they're unused. Not in a "general" exercise sort of a way. In a specific exercise sort of way.
Every piece of generic weight training equipment you use is based originally on Nautilus (The weight stack idea came from Universal.) The key inventor/owner of Nautilus was Arthur Jones.
He sold off the company in the late 80s to start MedX (medical Exercise) realizing his Lower Back machine worked the hips AND the lower back...meaning the more powerful hips powered the back through the motion.
When he got it right he did some exercise studies with a number of PhDs and MD (including a past president of the American College of Orthopaedics, who even stopped performing back surgery due to this equipment.)
The reason it works...is that it isolates the back...preventing the use of the legs and hips in spinal extention.
A flaw in the Nautilus lower back machine (which everyone else copies.)
When directly exercised, the lumbar extensors made impossible increases in strength. Impossible, unless they were atrophied to begin with. These exercise brought the muscles back to "normal' strength levels, and tehn hypertrophied them (the way long term strength training can.)
Personally, I saw something on the order of 1500 patients, of which 85% saw unreal improvements.
So, yes, general exercise helps, but has not been shown directly to help these muscles.
Look, I know from watching movies that space has a sound.
Now, it has to have a smell too? I'm deliberately avoiding the Uranus joke that someone else is surely going to make.

That's right. That's how big it is.
When you work in Uncompressed 10bit HD, it requires a TB or so for 90 minutes. So, figure you'll get a 2 hour film or so, uncompressed in HD.
Still not as good as viewing film.

Gone to a large nursing home and give every resident a set for a year.
Then, compared thier mortality rate. If anyone dies from "old age"....

Didn't the guys from that lame movie megaforce ride these? Where are the little wing things that they can go fly with.
And then it occured to me that they must have hidden the rockets or risk a suit from the ACME company and the coyote.
