This guy just wants to give a heads up to a group of people that probably move more computers than any other group of people. Of course, in typical slashdolt fashion, the majority of people can only tell him how he should have done something other than what he did, and that he is an idiot. This could have happened to any of us. So, instead of using our commonalities for good and maybe getting UPS to be accountable, the incredibly self-absorbed/.'er turns on this poor guy who went from having 3 kick ass comps to none. Nice going. You all make me sick.
"As long as I'm asking, is anyone playing with using a Gameboy Advance as a fancy PC peripheral? Using it for games like football where one wants to secretly set plays seems like a nifty idea."
Here is the real reason for the dotcom crash...
Everyone was so busy 'secretly' playing games at work.
Did you read the article? This will allow filmmakers to create truly remarkable works, with as much nudity and violence as they want with the full knowledge that they can still succeed commercially. The movie in it's 'uncut' version will have all the good 'bits' and truly be a 'director's cut' and all the people that this offends can wait until it is out on dvd and watch it 'sanitized' in their own homes. This is great for those of us who respect a director's artistic integrity. Finally, we might have a chance to watch film's that don't have to pass the ratings board or the movie marketer's scrutiny. I hope this is the first step in creating total artistic freedom.
Holy christ! While you are free to watch/mandate anything you want in your own home... I just gotta say, the blow job scene is probably the least offensive thing in that movie...
Way to qualify your gratitude man. We all know how unlikely you getting any good answers is. Most likely, you will get posts, not unlike this one, singling one line out and making some poor attempt at humour. This is not your daddy's slashdot.
Drugs are bad? Like caffeine? Or how about aspirin? Maybe you mean insulin? Hmmmmm, wait those are good if used correctly and bad if abused... How about we not promote stupidity? I will start now by replying to... well you get the idea.
I have been thinking about the 'case' problem... Why not gut an old audio component and even potentially use some of the hardware (i.e. knobs and the like)
I disagree. I think many of the so-called 'unwashed mass of consumers' can do all of (a,b,and c). It's just that once these are accomplished the person(s) finds themselves bored spitless by posts with no actual content (such as yours). Does anyone remember when/. was a resource?
I would love to be able to put.shns on it. Considering they are lossless and only compress to half the size of.wavs, 80GB wouldn't go very far... (200-250cds? I have twice that many).
The artists? This isn't about the artists. A musical recording used to be a record of an actual event. An event that the musician got paid for, in cash, in person. The music CD of today is a coporate construct. It is an attempt to create a commodity out of artistic expression. There is a certain amount of artifice that goes into such an endeavor. Anyone who loves music can hear that the music is only half alive, the critical component, the energy created by the interplay between crowd and performer ia absent. To compensate for this all manner of 'sweetening' is done. In my perfect world CD's would be available for all live shows, pure, unmastered and most of all truthfull. An oppourtunity to experience a real event.

This is true if by 'complacent' you mean totally out of money due to unfair pressure by Microsoft.
To paraphrase, the problem with pr0n is that it isn't perfect. But it certainly helps.

Having said that, anyone up for some QA3?

What in the hell does this:
can kill you (slowly) instantly
mean? Slowly and instantly? At the same time? Is this some kind of relativity thing?

Nintendo USA is in Redmond, WA. What do they have to do with this though? Oh wait, I just re-read your post and I think you are being coy...

But then maybe not.
How exactly would long fingernails get in the way of playing air guitar to 'Stairway to Heaven'?
I mean if he used vi that would be a different story. That would clearly make him better, right?
Hey, he's dutch. How many languages do you speak?
Going waaaay off-topic, I have put together a 'tribute' page for my favorite ramen...

Seriously, find these, mmmmmm, rammmmen.
I really like ramen. You just gotta get the right kind.

and proves his own point by typing dot-slash!!!
Whew, long assed Friday afternoon.
