I agree that the prequels majorly suck. It is just lacking something that I can't define that Episodes 4 and 5 (maaaybe 6) have. But what in god's name are you talking about? The original trilogy was FILLED with comic relief. I think the problem is BAD comic relief. There's nothing wrong with comic relief. And Star Wars was never "a serious space drama". It was great, and serious at times, but you're forgetting, there was plenty of comic relief.

Of course it was an ad hominem attack. That is what we are discussing: the nature of Mr. John Ashcroft. An ad hominem attack is a logically flawed way of invalidating someone else's logic by attacking their character. He wasn't saying "John Ashcroft's beliefs about X are wrong because he's a big fat idiot." He was saying "John Ashcroft is a big fat idiot because he locks up American Citizens indefinitely without any trial." Now explain to me, how is that a "groundless ad hominem attack"?

Besides, at this point it doesn't matter. The Kazaa network, as I understand it, is totally decentralized. Yes, there are supernodes, but like I said, as I understand it no one can shut it down now, without going after individual supernodes.

This movie is 100% CG, by the way. I know I'm posting realllly late, so probably no one will see this, but this commercial is totally CG. It's really amazing, actually. This is probably the first totally CG production that fooled everyone, even slashdotters. Amazing.

but there is nothing inherently wrong with the swastiga. It was an ancient Roman and Hindu symbol for life. Look at some pre-1900s art and you'll find it a-plenty.

Yeah, check out the latest issue of Heeb Magazine for an article about this dude who is obsessed with the swastika, has it tattoed all over his body, and IS NOT a fascist, racist, nazi lover, hitler lover OR anti semite. He makes the same case that you do, that the swastika was around way before the Nazis, and he isn't going to let them ruin it. Apparently the swastika was a very common symbol found all over, in art, advertising, religion, before the Nazis hijacked it.

  25. Re:Star Trek thrust on Comparing Sci-fi Starship Sizes · · Score: 1

Actually, I believe kinetic energy is (m*v^2)/2 or "one half emm vee squared". m * v is impulse, I think (this I'm less sure of). Impulse is force * (amount of time force was applied), which is basically like saying (m*a)*t, and since a is in m/s^2, and t is in seconds, the final units will be the units of m times m/s or, kg * m/s. And m/s is velocity. So yes, I'm quite sure impulse is m*v. And I'm certain that kinetic energy is "one half emm vee squared".
