Firefox benefitted from years of lessons learned by Microsoft. Now that Firefox is a.)breaking new ground and b.) becoming widely used, we'll see how/if the security trend continues.
IE receives its fair share of licks from the press whenever a major exploit is discovered. Why shouldn't Firefox expect the same?
I would like to see a single-player implementation as well. Perhaps make the common mobs/quests more realistic for solo fights, and just reduce the rewards. Let people still play and progress when they don't have time/inclination to find a group, yet require teamwork to reap the good rewards.
1. Turn on the radio. 2. Go to a local bar. 3. Go to a concert. 4. Buy a CD, new or used. 5. Buy an individual song from iTunes etc.
None of the above are illegal, so please rationalize your original post. Unless, of course, you meant to say "I remember when it didn't used to be a crime to violate a copyright."
FYI - Your "free" public wireless internet isn't free. Especially for the taxpayers who are unfortunate enough to live "behind some of the hills in town."
Seriously, all we're asking for is some consistency. And I'm not talking about consistently blaming every single meteorolgical event on global warming.
...acknoledges the need for copyrights and/or IP laws. RMS is finally being consistent.
GodDAMN! Those were the days, weren't they?? I can still remember all the GPA points I pissed away in college doing exactly that for days on end.

Uh oh! Looks like somebody needs a little RE-EDUCATION!!
Nope, it's just that Mozilla/Firefox has received a lot of publicity in these news outlets for it's (supposed) security advantages over IE.
I'd say it's most appropriate for these same news outlets to follow up when those claims aren't upheld by reality.
Wouldn't you expect the same if this were a Microsoft app?

I doubt it would be easy though.
That's odd... I learned here that Mozilla is clearly more responsive to security bugs than Microsoft. What gives?
But it's still A-OK to waste bandwidth on a turd.
I remember when it didn't used to be a crime to watch a movie.
If I want to listen to music, I can:
1. Turn on the radio.
2. Go to a local bar.
3. Go to a concert.
4. Buy a CD, new or used.
5. Buy an individual song from iTunes etc.

Oh please! Only on Slashdot is thoughtless hyperbole considered "insightful".
That was a close one!
Nothing to see here, folks. You may return to your regularly scheduled Apple worship.
I bet some fourteen astronauts would disagree with you, were they alive today.
"My mother was almost arrested when she requested the listing of all Democrats that had voted in her precint, as is required by law."
Just to satisfy my curiosity, of what possible use would that information be to a voter?
If this guy had anything of substance to say, he'd have written to a more credible/influential outlet than "a somewhat shrill political blogger".
"Maybe I'm just getting frustrated because I've got money to burn and can't find a decent game to spend it on..."
Perhaps it's your medication. Good GOD!
"High Moon Studios chose the relatively untapped genre of the vampire cowboy..."
That's not a genre, that's an unimaginative combination of two ganres.
And by "relatively untapped", I assume you meant "absurd".
Seriously, the people who put out games like this must be Adult Swim flunk-outs... and that's saying a LOT!
It's more like "making the best of a bad situation".
...more malicious code writers.
Thanks be to Slashdot for giving them the recognition/praise they so richly deserve.
It's a good thing that a digital copy of a song sounds so much better than one played off of a CD. Otherwise you might be branded a hypocrite.
"Anybody who wants to inspect the source code for security holes can do so."
It would seem, though, that's not actually happening.
"Paid for by taxes" only means "free" if you're not paying taxes.
I suspect that you pay taxes; therefore you are paying for this service, as are people who cannot even use it.
FYI - Your "free" public wireless internet isn't free. Especially for the taxpayers who are unfortunate enough to live "behind some of the hills in town."
The second rule of scientific reports:
"Everything is A-OK" doesn't get the funding.
Somebody had to say it!
