"And if you really care that much about what *I* choose to use for *MY* own enjoyment, you probably just have sour grapes because you can't afford one on a dell helpdesk salary."
I doubt anybody here cares at all.
Does narcissism come standard with an iPad or did you have to pay extra?
"While I agree that nuclear is a very viable current solution to our energy problems, it still fails to address the long-term problem. Fossil fuels and nuclear fuels have the same problem: limited supply. The Peak Oil concerns of today are swapped with finding caches of nuclear fuels tomorrow. I realize I'm probably looking a little too far down the road, but it would be nice to know that we're not just reacting to problems, but anticipating them."
Why do you assume that increasing nuclear infrastructure would halt other energy research and development?
"He also seems to have only started this quite recently, much like Rockefeller and his guilt driven giving."
No self-respecting Slashbot would ever acknowledge the possibility that Gates simply waited until he had the means (capital) to accomplish something more meaningful than cutting a $20 monthly check to Feed the Children.
Phase in 7 with new hardware cycle

Why not just phase it in gradually as part of the company's regular hardware cycle? 4GB of RAM is going to be considered standard for new systems soon (if it's not already), and you're going to need to switch OS anyway to utilize the RAM (unless you're unfortunate enough to be using XP 64bit).
"And pro-war people aren't? "Iraq has WMDs! Oops, we mean they don't." "If we go to Afghanistan, we can capture and/or kill bin Laden! Oops, I mean we can't."
Come on. Seriously? You're acusing anti-war folks of being gullible?"
Both "sides" can be vulnerable to agenda-driven manipulation and can engage in willful ignorance of important context.
Apparently there are several versions of this video, at least one having been edited by this guy. I also understand that the edits removed a lot of what could be considered vital context.
Imagine a PVP game where dying killed your character dead. No resurrection. Of if that's too harsh, perhaps losing 5 levels as well as giving the keys to your bank to your slayer, or having the character lock out for a month. Or perhaps having every guard in every town on the continent kill you on sight? You think people would randomly attack strangers? Ganking would vanish in a heartbeat.
Those would also effectively kill PvP in your PvP game.
"Shouldn't this post have been created first, *before* the gov't let loose billions of our taxpayer dollars, seems once in the wild, tracking that cash is going to be difficult."
That would imply the stimulus wasn't *designed* to work like a giant slush fund.
Universal health care is a good thing. It's not socialist. Get over it.
Is that a fact or an opinion? Can you tell the difference?

"Yeah, but only one side has a body count."
So I guess that makes it OK to distort the truth to further an agenda.
"How many more times do we get to hear that the video was edited?"
According to the Gawker article linked several times in this thread, the time-stamp on the video proves it was edited.
Don't let a little context get in the way of your version of the "truth" though, right?

I can't imagine why anyone would have a hard time taking these guys (and their platform, by proxy) seriously...
Demand continues to exceed supply and we're working hard to get this magical product into the hands of even more customers.
I can't imagine why some people regard Apple as a cult...

"Try being a non-Christian in the US today, it is a pain in the ass because of the sheer stupidity of others."
Judging others as intellectually inferior because their beliefs differ from your own? Were you trying to be ironic, or are you just a hypocrite?
Oh, I found a wallet one with 20 dollars in it and no id. So now I'm a thief?
Yes, you are.
for me it's either switch to FIOS or stick with Comcast. What an f'd up market.

So is Clusty the crown of search?

It's examples like this that demonstrate why Ubuntu is widely considered the most user-friendly Linux distribution available.
Snark aside, what would the average Slashdotter's response be if Microsoft released WinFS in such a state?
Nobody will ever need more than 35 mph.
This story could have come out with an entirely different spin if the headline were simply, "Windows 7 Reduces Power Consumption by 17%."
Welcome to Slashdot!
Fortunately, we have a system that combines incompetent government bureaucracy with the unaccountability of a corporation.
...would somebody need to bring a laptop into a movie theater?
This must be affecting only newer Vostros. My 1500 seems to be running 7 (64-bit) just fine.
When can we cut access to EMI, Sony, Universal and Warner?
When you own an ISP?
