    Everyone seems to complain about hollywood making sequels and remakes.But the game industary is actually worse then hollywood, and it works great for them.

    Every single Playstation 2 game I own is a sequel or remake of something else. The last original game I bought was probably Tribes. Of course I have also bought Tribes 2 and Tribes Vengeance

  15. This reminds me of a problem I had on Akamai DNS Outage Messes up Net · · Score: 1

    I remember a while ago were I had this problem where I couldn't connect to ten percent of the internet. I first noticed I could not connect to Kuro5hin. But I also couldn't connect to some other websites. People on IRC told me they could connect to these sites fine.

    I play Magic Online I could get into magic online but 30 percent of the time if I tried to get into a game it would say it could not find the server. Guess the normal server and the servers you play games are different, one or more of those servers was in my "blind spot". I ran a traceroute to kuro5hin and noticed my trace seemed to always get stuck so it never reach kuro5hin.

    This problem seems to cleared up a week later

    Yet Tanenbaum vehemently insists that Torvalds wrote Linux from scratch, which means from a blank computer screen to most people. No books, no resources, no notes -- certainly not a line of source code to borrow from, or to be tempted to borrow from.

    He has a point there, Linus would to have at least copy from the first kernel which was created by God.

    What you think a bunch a computer scientists created a kernel without ever seeing a kernel before? That is of course impossible.

    I remember my Dad doing something like that and how shock I was. It was not nearly as bad as this as he had done researched stuff on the internet for a few days.

    But of course buying a computer requires months and months of research and planning. Then even more months of research because all the research you did before is out of date.

    You notice that in these disputes they always say they don't want to buy MS software because MS makes them buy the whole Office Package. Then Microsoft "clarifies" claiming that you could have always bought MS Office programs seperately?
