Find me one. Just one watermarking technology which was really attacked/tested and does actually works (not "removable" without utterly destroying the sample).
I've not followed watermak those past 3 years but it was more or less labelled "Mission Impossible" by studies.
Back then, the methods were ranking from "not working" to "bloody not working and stupid". Sometimes with a slight distortion (not working), sometimes just writing another watermark on the same sample with the same algorithm/tool (bloody not working and stupid).
I'm curious to know if there was any innovation/breakthrough in this domain.
_ They could just be so thightly bound to DirectX that a port to an OpenGL based engine would be a lot of effort for a small amount of clients.
_ Or they could be waiting for proper 3D acceleration for high-end ATI cards under Linux.
My last computer have an ATI 9800 pro and I just can't use 3D acceleration. (I curse ATI every night for that)
Those are two good reasons IMHO.
I can't even use disks without suffering random crashes mind you : I have a pure SATA-150 system. I've tried all the workaround availables, none is working stable.
Up to this one, every computer I own are running Linux 90% of the time. (All my older AMD/nVidia based computers are working fine)
My best and most expensive computer can't be used as a Linux gaming machine.
I hope you are not taking it the wrong way. (Sorry if you are.) I usually like to improve myself with english or other languages (Which happens a lot. Usually as soon as I speak.).
btw: is there a way to send messages personally? It buggers me to discuss on the forum.
People usually needs a (strong) motivation to move, even if it leads to a better state. Linux is not a threat to Windows. The general behaviour of MS against it's custommers is.
Facts: (AFAIK)
_ Windows XP has been out for a while now. _ With such an amount of time, there likely more hardware update needed (and applied) for a lot of computers. _ A set of 3 changes triggers the mandatory registration process.
_ To have a locked computer on sunday morning because you just installed a RAM upgrade is really a pain. (*) _ To have a very unpleasant MS guy on the phone Monday morning really improves your general bad feeling about MS and Windows. (**)
I know a few people who experienced that kind of story those last six months. Most were MS tolerant. Some are now planning to give a try to a Linux distribution (SuSE).
Since this kind of trouble is going to happen more and more, I think that MS is more a threat to itself than Linux.
Unless you've got some portable-player research skills way beyond mine, your way should say "I do not buy a portable player."
Actually no. I meant exaclty what I said. "No Ogg => No buy", that is. I never said I found one. (But I'm pretty sure it's possible to have one. Embedded linux would probably be involved at some point but I disgress. I assume you mean "ready-to-use" ) AFAIK "I do not buy a portable player" differs from "I do not buy a portable player which does not supports Ogg". Unless you assume there is no portable player, ever, which would have to be proven.

I do it the other way.
I do not buy a portable player which does not supports Ogg.
Jesus, the USA is not a democracy, it s a REPUBLIC
I didn't said "direct democracy" a.k.a. everyone vote every law.
I just said "democracy" : where the people owns the power. Where the people elect other people with (hopefully) the same ideas as them.
A republic could have a president elected by a hand of people, whatever millions where thinking. If people elects people to elect... it's still a democracy.
from the greek : "dèmokratia" : people's government.
What makes you think "democracy" has anything to do with "freedom" or "respect"?
Nothing, there is a ';' between the two parts of the sentences.
democratic : Because the power is supposed to be on the people side. Because people elect other people with the same belief than them.
freedom : don't tell me the USA are not labelled "Land of Freedom".
respect of privacy : well, on a totalitarian country, it would not matter. I should have put something like "not totalitarian" but I was unable to do it. USA are not totalitarian are they ?
This kind of event seems to be happening more often lately. I think it's just reported more often.
Even knowing than I can't help but feeling a bit uneasy. What about people thinking we are close to the "Deep Impact" or "Armageddon" movie ?
It's late, I'm not 100% sure my text parser is working fine.
If I understand well, you say that watermarking is still not working (properly).
Well, there is a way then.
And thus, the system would be obsolete.
qed
Deal ! ;)
If you sell a hat, it's not yours anymore.
Do not forget : Network is the computer.

[blockquote]Europeans have not only lost the goodwill they had, but ended up with more "hate" then they had prior to those events.[/blockquote]
As an European, I do not hate the US.
From where I stand, it looks a lot of the people (at least 50%) is suffering for the choices of a minority (supported by the other ~ 50%)
A great time to live in the USA.
...
sigh
I need to buy a new computer in a month or two.
... no official support for Linux ? That's a veto.
I'm used to nVidia but the recent reviews & stories made me think a change could be a very good idea.
I was going for an ATI 9800 Pro but
I think it looks into the file to do that.

"What I see is that
What I see if that if they can let "simple user" put bits in a GC's memory, that would mean Linux on GC.
A simple kernel bootstrap with a networked access to a file system would be enough.
Actually
I'm almost always in black. (Sometimes with some hints of grey. Sometimes with a red shirt.)
But that wasn't my point
They are supposed to do that on MARS.
It's in every sci-fi novel.
It's time to dress in black and wear black sunglasses.

Ok, then there should not be a "le" in front of "Windows".
What "Mon Dieu! C'est le Windows!" means please, in english ?
Thanks

Renaming or not still means about 6 registers used at once in the same area of an algorithm.
If you need more than 6, you are in for a peek in the cache.
More registers means more speed available.
I wonder what they will do for the AMD shares. (I don't care about Fujitsu : I don't have any ;) )
