One class I'm glad I took in college. It realy opened my eyes to usability and how to make something usable and a better understanding as to what other programs have done wrong. Elegant code should have an elegant interface and learning what goes into making an elegant interface is very important. True, not every program needs an interface at all but for the ones that do its not hard to follow some of the simple rules for making something usable. A lot of the material would only take someone 15 to 30 minutes to go over and understand, and not the 3 hours of class I had to sit through. If you are ever going to make an interface please please look into things like the ten usability heuristics.
Pretty much what I did. Realized I didn't need caffine to be awake in the morning or at any other time. Also now I have less tolerance for caffine so when I really think I need it one cup of coffee will really wake me up.
Sure it will suck up bandwidth just as much as the "bad" virus. But its end goal is to stop all the bandwidth hogging. The problem with it though is that it is still a virus and I don't care if the virus is "good" or "bad" if it gets onto any system that system has been compromised and has to be dealth with.
End of semester was always the best time to find free stuff. Picked up so much useless crap and some non useless crap, like the router in my apartment. If this had been 2 months ago that would have been great since I had a lot of stuff to get rid of when I moved. Although now that I think back I should have sold some of it, but I was in a hurry to get out of the old apartment and the less I had to move the better.
Oh thats right! The Internet! We'll need a national firewall! Much like the great wall of china... we can call it the Great Firewall of America! Thats not patriotic enough though how about The Homeland Cyber Defence Force. Then we can filter all the evils and unamerican stuff that terrorists broadcast at our poor civilians. I'll start drawing diagrams today!
Yes it is almost impossible to "do your homework." So yes we listen to the other people. The trick to it though is to get your news from multiple sources with different views. Read news from cnn, bbc, and fox. Find new sources that present facts with different views.
"his advice was simply to "get your foot in the door" somewhere!"
Really good advice. I also recently graduated with a BS in CS and Math. Where I went to school we had co-ops (taking time of from school, 6 months usually, and working in the industry) which gave me some experience. Even with this experience, which most places don't think too much of, there were no job offers coming in. Finally I was able to get a job at where I had done my co-ops. Now I have my foot in the door and room to grow. Once you get your foot in the door you have leverage and can use that to move up.

I hope this passes since it could be great at generating income for me or at least be a great investment. First off I can sue Dell since I have a computer from them and it was really easy to get and they gave me no warnings on how easy it was to use a computer to commit fraud. Then I can sue Microsoft for making an operating system that allows for easy copy right infringement. Their "copy" and "paste" methods have cost trillions and trillions of lost sales and IP revenue. Then I am going to sue my ISP for giving me internet access. Finally I am going to sue the government for inventing ARPA Net which evolved into the IP stealing networks we have today. There are pleanty of others on this list but I think this is a good start. All I need is a couple hundred million dollars to start the lawsuits but the return on this inventsment is quite substantial.
thats not too good at all. with my current cable internet provider (RCN they rock) I don't think we've had any downtime at all. although they did screw up our phone service one night which was kind of amusing actually. we had a new phone number for a few hours.
I do believe this was because they were releasing Disney movies. They have sinced moved away from Disney so you can probally expect to find more adult content in their new films.
I found an even more interesting article that uses acoustics for cryptoanalysis. http://www.wisdom.weizmann.ac.il/ ~tromer/acoustic/

I've just started watching Screen Savers again and I have also been surprised by some of the things they say and do, stuff you'd never think you would see on tv.
And in the worst twist of fate this crappy cable "service" is the only cable that we can get at our new apartment. We currently have RCN who just basically rocks and spoils us. 5 megabit down and 800 kb up and lots of tv and phone service all at a reasonable price. After we move we will be paying more for less. Thankfully we can have Earthlink use comcast to give us internet... yay.
I have to agree with you there. His books are great except for the last page or two. I won't let two pages ruin a book though. I may cringe at the endings, which are so very very short and wrapped up so fast compared to the rest of the book, but the books are still worthy of reading in the end.

Ahh... I was hoping to see Ender's Game make it on one these lists. Its listed under Cpl and Sgt for the marines. A most fantastic read.
I havn't been this productive in a long time. I'm sure today will be a very productive day for most geeks.
I would also add a few more fnords.

Maybe 31415926535898 was taken. Perhaps they should have used 314159265359.
Well of course there will be a hole so that the message of capitalism can be spread to the rest of the world.

So instead of needing the blue key to open the door I'll need to find the Crystal Clear Pepsi?
So this should be able to run Longhorn at medium settings right?

Best Buy totally over prices all cables. A friend of mine who worked there explained to me that they jack the price on cables something like 5000%.

I couldn't agree more. I just graduated with my CS degree but it really doesn't mean much to me since it won't get me a job any time soon.

I totally agree with you there. I have just graduated with a dual degree in computer science and math but I wish I went with engineering instead.
If you are looking for more good star wars games I suggest Jedi Knight 2 and Jedi Academy. Both are fantastic games and worth playing more than once.
