    It's not factory jobs - it's actually fast food places. They will automate because the raises in minimum wage make it cost effective.

  9. There are people that don't use a phone for everything, and I have no complaints with picking up my roku remote, tapping a few buttons and settling back to watch the results of a nearly effortless set of motions.

    No, the easiest way is to feel sorry for the H1B having to leave their homeland and live in the US. They should therefore earn the median computing wage in the area plus a 40% bonus for living expenses. After all, they have no home here, and will have to rent or buy. They should also gain a company car since obviously they can't bring whatever transportation they have in their old country.

    Also, free air fare to visit their relatives at least once a month - and on holidays. Can't have them being sad or missing their family.

    I would be happy with that in place for H1B's.

    Sorry, I'm not a leech.

    I even give money back when the cashier makes a mistake, remind them that might of forgotten an item, and tip generously at restaurants.

    I paid for my copy of photoshop, acid pro 7 and cyberlink power director 15 too.

    Knowing that I don't game or cheat the system makes me feel better about myself.

    Effort goes into creating things. I don't mind rewarding that.

    Out of all the episodes so for - the second one is the only one I've watched more than 5 times.

    Unless you count the intro for the first episode, that one I watch quite often.

    I look forward to my Thursday evenings now , just happy that the orangutan and his two bollocks will be online.

    Well, instead of paying for 10 - 10.00 a month subscriptions to watch what you want commercial free, you can instead pay 200 bucks a month for hundreds of ad infested channels spewing tons of unwatchable crap.

    it's called cable television!

    I liked the second episode.

    But then again, I never liked star in a reasonably priced car, or the reviews of cars - just skipped them.

    I'm looking forward to the next one with the hamster being airlifted.

    And I paid up for amazon prime just for the show, and immediately benefited by getting free shipping and low cost same day delivery for a couple of things I ordered.

    Electricity generated in China isn't used in America. The distance is too far for the charge to make it around the globe.

    The story is a lie.

    Apple is investing in Chinese wind farms and doing absolutely nothing to mitigate its local carbon footprint.

    My bet is they won't be putting up a local wind farm to actually use renewable energy.

    Cause that would require investing In America - instead of china.

    Nah, I keep telling myself this because the line has to come up as quickly as possible. the extra money saved by the monkey is lost as the monkey runs out to find out what the problem is, then runs back to email india - then waits, then runs back, tries the fix then runs to email india saying it didn't work. then waits

    Rinse, lather, repeat.

    Meanwhile, the line isn't moving, costing the warehouse more and more money until the problem is resolved.

    Hence, my warm chair and recent raise from appreciative bosses..

  24. Off shoring won't happen to me since they need my warm ass in the chair in case something in the warehouse goes down, only then can I leave the chair - fix it, and go back to warming that chair with my ass.

    Oh, and coding an EDI system. As well as the new order process system, and writing ETL maps.

    But the latter part any burger flipper can do...
