    Why not just recast TOS? No need for old fogeys (with all due respect to the elderly gentlemen in question) to play the parts of Kirk and Spock. What the world needs now more than ever is a movie with a plentyful supply of attractive alien ladies in skimpy sixties fashions. A young James T. Kirk is just the man to give us such a movie.

    How are you going to enforce collective ownership among humans? In "the real world" every communist state has been authoritarian. All collective ownership does is concentrate all the power in the hands of whoever is making the decisions. If Marx couldn't see that then he was a fool.

    Not very many I would imagine. Most sites work with firefox, and pretending to be IE is usually just done on a site by site basis for the limited number of people who installed the extension anyway.

    The UI doesn't suck, it's just not designed with handholding for unknowledgeable people in mind. There's a difference.

    Software may be a tool, but it isn't a tool like any other. It's the embodiment of your business process to a greater or lesser degree depending on the business in question. If you don't control your software you don't control your business.

    Y'know I've read the analysis of starwars vs dune, but really all the resemblances are just "well I guess you could say that" type of things. In reality, Dune the novel and movie are nothing like starwars at all.

    I think you missed the point of the question. What if there are dozens of torrents for the "same" file (e.g. britney.mov) Can the different torrent swarms somehow know about each other or does each torrent divide the potential members of the swarm into non-communicating groups with lower bandwidth?

    He's saying the time has never been better to start a business, keep your costs low and make better technology your advantage, and he's entirely encouraging with his style of presentation.
    He's saying that, but he's the one that sold out during the tech bubble, not during the last year or something.
