If you have an Xbox, you could play Forza Motorsport. Its quite realistic in the driving physics, has damage modeling, etc. I was a huge Gran Turismo fan, but after playing Forza (with damage modeling and online play) I really cant go back to GT4 without really missing those things.

Plus, it has more american road racing tracks (wooooooo Road Atlanta!)

But then again, im an american road racing junkie :)

To clarify a few points: SNES FF2 is the game they just released as FF4A (it was 4 in japan, 2 in US)

FF2, the one in dawn of souls, never made it here on the NES. It came as part of some playstation anthology, i believe.

Four swords is awesome, if only to have portable Link to the past. Have yet to get minish cap. I cant enjoy the multiplayer on fourswords, since i have a DS and not GBA. All great recomendations though :)

  9. Re:Pricing on PopCap On Casual Gaming · · Score: 1

I buy used xbox titles for $20 or less. As a (somtimes) indie game developer, I want to release my games below that price point. Maybe i have low self esteem and dont think my games are worth that, but I also know that I don't really want to pay that either. So, I decided to sell em cheap and keep my dayjob (that also keeps the game deving fun)

You would be correct. As other posters noted, FF2 was also in the GBA release of Dawn of Souls. It is interesting, a lot more advanced (imho) than FF1, and was avilable on the same system in japan. I've only put about 8 or so hours into ff2 (finally got a working copy of ff7, so thats been my timesink).

Any big FF fan would enjoy 2, if only to see what square was trying different back in those days.

Ive heard such things from FF4J (FF2A) fans. It just got released for the game boy advance (today, actually) and i've been waiting on this one. Now, if i could just keep my ps2 working long enough for me to finish FF7 (overrated, but still a good game, imho).

Thank god for the backwards compatability on the DS, I get to play so many games that I otherwise wouldn't have.

A REAL final fantasy movie would rule (even advent children was OK, spirits within, not so much)

  14. Re:In defense of Gnome on Torvalds Says 'Use KDE' · · Score: 1

Seconded. I used debian unstable for the longest time, and then tried out Kubuntu (what? I like kde). I personally don't like what theyve done. I generally preferred the default everything for kde. Maybe it is just what I was used to, but newer distros that mess with the defaults just dont do it for me. I cant harsh on k/ubuntu for what they are doing, because ive seen some long time windows users become linux users due to those distros, but I've got enough expirence. I need a more advanced expirence, because I'm an advanced user. But thats the great thing about linux, i can find a distro that meets my needs (or, if there wasnt, i could get LFS and make it how I wanted it)

For me, xbox live arcade paired with some indie titles from garagegames is the reason i want one. That, and i am sometimes too lazy to go and buy games. Id rather just press a few buttons. Too bad the "download and play" thing the DS has cant be used to buy titles from nintendos online service. I swear, if they had that, id hand them cash soooo fast...

I agree with you and the GP. I LOVE MY DS. I only bought it for Mario Kart, but while waiting on that I got some good DS games, some classic games that got released for the GBA (final fantasy 1&2, SMB3, Zelda:ALTTP).

Being one with disposable income enough to buy a game now and again, my DS is getting more play than my xbox, PC, PS2 combined. It is by far my favorite system since the NES.
